Roméo et Juliette
Après avoir scruté à la loupe, euh... plutôt à la jumelle, un secteur encore vierge d'observation de Petits-ducs, à tout le moins en ce qui nous concerne, l'ami Robert Dupont aura trouvé non seulement un nouveau trou habité, le numéro 28, mais il aura trouvé et observé pour la toute première fois ce nouveau spécimen caractérisé par sa robe rousse et son béret brun, un neuvième Petit-duc adulte était observé au Parc Angrignon après ce printemps 2019 des plus magique de part ses trois nichées connues. Mais l'histoire ne s'arrête pas là, venu observé le petit nouveau 24 heures après sa découverte au crépuscule du jour, Robert aura observé une jolie dame venir se percher non loin. Un cinquième couple est né! Dix adultes connus habitent les boisées d'Angrignon présentement... Toutes mes félicitations Robert! Vive Roméo et Juliette!

Si beau plumage...
Lorsque nous les voyons de loin, ces Étourneaux sansonnet nous apercevons un de ces oiseaux noirs qui pullulent dans notre décor urbain, tout comme les Carouges, les Quiscales et les corneilles. Mais l'Étourneau gagne particulièrement à être photographié de près lorsque le soleil irise sont plumage pour en faire ressortir ses magnifiques couleurs.

Rock or water?
The Athabasca River is the longest river in Alberta (1,538 km). The first 168 km (located in Jasper National Park) are designated as a Canadian Heritage River.
This is one of my pictures taken in my road trip to Alberta. I just love all the rugged mountain, water falls, lakes and rivers.
Out for a walk with camera in hand, the vibrant orange of wild daylilies initially caught my attention. However, between them a few smaller and more delicate Chicory flowers seemed to be a strong contender too - ultimately winning me over.

Every 2 years the Grand-Place (central square) in Brussels is covered with a flower carpet of begonias during 3 or 4 days. The carpet of 77 m x 24 m is composed by about 120 volunteers, with nearly one million begonias.
This year, in 2014 the event was from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 August 2014 at the Grand-Place in Brussels.

"I will always stand strong as long as I have you"
A minimalistic presentation of a melting piece of ice standing strong against the strong waves.
Something a bit strange for a Hallowe'en upload - there were numerous examples of this variety of fungi in the conifer woodland, but I spotted one that was strongly backlit by the morning sun, giving it a beautiful orange 'glow' through the translucent body. If anyone knows the ID of this please let me know, it was about 3 cm tall.

The Chinguetti Mosque is a mosque in Chinguetti, Mauritania. It was an ancient center of worship created by the founders of the oasis city of Chinguetti in the Adrar region of Mauritania in the thirteenth or fourteenth century. The minaret of this ancient structure is supposed to be the second oldest in continuous use anywhere in the Muslim world.
In the 1970s the mosque was restored through a UNESCO effort, but it, along with the city itself, continues to be threatened by intense desertification.
In 1996 the old town of Chinguetti was added to the Unesco world heritage list, together with the old towns of Ouadane, Tichitt and Oualata.
In Sunni Islam, Chinguetti is generally regarded as the 7th holy city.
