Strong gate - weak fence! I don’t know what this gate is protecting because the road back into the property seems to be the “road less traveled.” I’ll tell you one thing, by the time one gets finished reading all the signs the dog will be upon you. Apparently, you can’t do anything on this property. Everything fun is forbidden - how boring to live there. They do make signs now that say ‘Trespassers will be Violated’. At least a sign like that is good for a laugh.
There are several ways into this secret property. You could just climb the gate or cut the wire on the fence. I don’t believe that there is a dog, but I’m not that curious to see what is back this overgrown road. If it is a pristine Jaguar in a barn, I will be kicking myself later. If there is indeed a dog, you would see him coming a long ways away and be back over the gate before he gets in attack mode. HFF

Une image oubliée du printemps...
Les nombreuses nichées de Petits-ducs et la petite invasion de Parulines du printemps dernier au Parc Angrignon m'auront amené à complètement oublier de vous présenter cette image... Croisé aux abords de la petite baie du grand bassin d'Angrignon, au 2e jour de la sortie des petits d'Odi et Philémon, en compagnie de Jean-Guy Proulx et Serge Forcier, ce mâle, en déplacement, fut mon tout premier Cardinal à poitrine rose observé au Parc Angrignon. À part à l'Île Saint-Bernard où on peut le croiser à chaque printemps, je peux compter sur les doigts de la main mes rencontres avec un mâle de cette si belle espèce depuis les vingt-cinq dernières années. Un beau moment que celui de cette douce rencontre!

Panoramica compuesta por tres tomas
El Lago del Valle es el de mayor extensión de la Cordillera Cantábrica y está emplazado en un antiguo circo glaciar, con paredes subverticales y en el frente se puede observar depósitos irregulares, angulosos y de muy diferente tamaño (morrenas). Tiene forma de herradura, con una pequeña isla en el centro. Su perímetro es de unos 2.000 m, con 45 m. de calado máximo, fue recrecido artificialmente para su aprovechamiento hidroeléctrico. El valle tiene forma de U y a lo largo de él se pueden contemplar grandes bloques irregulares y estriados que fueron transportados por el antiguo glaciar, sobre algunos se observan arboles, que dan al paisaje un tono pintoresco. Se han catalogado más de 200 especies de fauna como el lobo, águila real, oso pardo, urogallo....En las zonas altas hay casas con techo de escoba (teitos) que han estado siempre ligadas a la vida trashumante y ganadera de los vaqueiros de alzada

Il est partout!
Je vous l'ai présenté ce charmant Bruant en avril dernier. Depuis, je le vois partout lors de mes sorties dans la grande région de Montréal. Jamais je n’en ai autant observé; la même chose pour les juvéniles fort présents en ce moment. Impressionnant! Grand bien nous fasse!!!

This was a new bird for me, the Golden-crowned Sparrow. I had to laugh as there were strong winds in the area and the feathers of this sparrow were wrapping around its body. I found this bird on the boardwalk at Bishops Beach in Homer and went back several times to try to capture some nice shots of it.

The mosque was built in 1757 and is located in the Old Bazaar neighbourhood. It is one of fifteen mosques originally built in the city during the Ottoman era.
The mosque was given a "Cultural Monument" (Monumente Kulturore) status by the Albanian government in 1973, sparing its destruction by the totalitarian communist regime of Albania. The remaining twelve mosques were subsequently demolished. Because of a religion ban in Albania, the mosque was used as a training hall for circus acrobats who made use of the high domed ceilings to hang their trapezes.

Rabban Hormizd Monastery is an important monastery of the Chaldean Catholic Church, founded about 640 AD, carved out in the mountains about 2 miles from Alqosh, Iraq, 28 miles north of Mosul.
The monastery is named after Rabban Hormizd (rabban is the Syriac for monk) who founded it in the seventh century.

Des nouvelles d'Angrignon
Depuis le début du mois de septembre j'ai observé les cinq adultes que j'avais déjà observé à l'hiver et au printemps dernier. Ils sont donc toujours dans leur territoire respectif. Ils ont tous terminés leur mue et présentent maintenant leurs beaux atours. Ici nous retrouvons Philémon que j'ai observé récemment dans cette grande cavité qu'il avait fréquenté une seule journée au printemps 2021, lorsque qu'un étranger rouquin -- qui ressemblait à notre Bobby, mais dont je ne peux encore confirmer qu'il s'agissait bien de lui -- s'était pointé en cette cavité située à la frontière des territoires d'Amandine et d'Odi. Outre le beau Philémon, j'ai croisé Odi, sa femelle, notre autre couple Amandine et son frileux Edgar ainsi que le beau Fernando qui semble être toujours esseulé. Il serait temps qu'il se trouve une nouvelle conjointe.
Comme je vous l'ai déjà signalé, des travaux l'hiver dernier, tout autour du secteur des nichées habituelles de Roméo et Juliette, nous ont empêchés de les revoir depuis la fin de leur nichée 2021. Souhaitons que nous retrouverons Roméo dans sa grande cavité et sa belle Juliette aux premiers mois de l'année 2023.
Rock or water?
The Athabasca River is the longest river in Alberta (1,538 km). The first 168 km (located in Jasper National Park) are designated as a Canadian Heritage River.
This is one of my pictures taken in my road trip to Alberta. I just love all the rugged mountain, water falls, lakes and rivers.
