I found that using my walking foot helped keep the fabric where it ought to be. I loved working with these fabrics - they were gorgeous!

This is the beginnings of a string based motion control system that should allow the floating UFO fly around. The three strings holding up the UFO are fed up to a scaffolding and then back down to the individual drums. The drums are attached to stepper motors which will wind the string in and out onto the drums to change the working length of the string. By controlling the exact length of each line I should be able to position the UFO anywhere inside a three dimensional evelope
