My wife's first macrame creation - a plant hanger - knotted from a handy ball of string. In the background is the bowl it hung from the ceiling. (For Macro Mondays "string")

First time experimenting with FX-39 II. Got a 50%-off deal at the local shop. Learned it works well with slower and especially t-grained films. So far it looks promising! Too bad the tri-x stock is running low :-P

I no longer own a macro ring, so I have to make a cut out.

And I am practicing with my new brightness lens (I hope the translation is correct).

The day started very early and, as always, the plans were very ambitious. Planned train times had to coincide with reality and the variable "position of the sun" naturally also played a role. For the first performance this day, however, everything fit.

DB Cargo's 232 262 hauled her(!) 45367 (NNR - XTCH) up from Freihung to disappear a little later behind the Thansüß stop into the forest towards Weiherhammer. It was loud. Next time let me hear you louder!

Happy Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by and for all of your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all. We are back in California after two wonderful weeks in Idaho, Wyoming and Montana; I will catch up as time permits over the coming days.

Tried to get a shorper shot of all the droplets but I was challenged by the wind.

I like to think about string theory when I am alone at night.

This is a decorative string made of recycled paper and my second attempt to understand what the word string means😊

In any case, let's protect nature!

Whoops... too late in the day, I've remembered this string featured in the MM theme "Closed". Well, this is the other end of the string holding the key to our not at all secure security box.

Hemp string wrapped around a tensioning toggle on a Marples bow saw. The saw frame is in the shape of an H. Across the bottom of the H is the location of the saw blade and across the top is the string, wound tight with the toggle. The toggle is kept tight by slipping it down a bit, to rest on the stretcher (horizontal) piece of the frame.

Where the tension is now, a pluck of the blade will emit a sound similar to a low guitar note.

The total size of the saw is 16 inches by 12 high with 4 inch handles extending out each side.

This image is two inches wide.
