I sometimes look back at old pics when they pop up in my recent activity log, and when I looked at this one I said, "Who the heck took that?".

 

Ah . . , now I remember, it was me.

And I did get a bit muddy that day trying to get a low angle with a decent reflection, not to mention that I had to sort through a lot of OOF pics to find this one. :{(

'Cause, as you may know these guys don't sit still for long, and even when they do sit still the breeze is constantly moving them across the water so getting good focus was a challenge,

but worth the effort.

 

Note: This is also a good example of how a 600 mm macro rig (300 mm F4 + 2xTC) at a distance of 5-6 feet will help to get a lower POV than the usual macro gear.

It's our eternal stride to bring the planets back into alignment, but my feet are tired so I will just sit down.

ISO 400, 1/55 sec, f/4.5 on AE mode. Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 Aspherical on Epson R-D1s. +2/3 stop exposure compensation.

My brother's cat. One of those ranger kittens. What his right name is I dunno, but around here he's known as Strider....

Tim Strand & Andrea Mclarty, both of Santa Barbara, CA., running stride to stride as they turn the curb on Turnpike Road near the 18-mile mark during the inaugural 2009 Santa Barbara International Marathon. Andrea Mclarty was the first women to finish the marathon, while Tim Strand placing 7th overall.
