This one took about a week to figure out how to get the models right, only about 5-6 hours total to do the HDR, add the fire effects, and bring the striders in.
Any comments/critique are welcome, I've been wanting to do something like this since the time I got into photography but it took a couple years to learn the various skills I needed to do it.
Although I'm not really a street photographer, I must admit, I do like it. This is a shot from this afternoon.

The females seem to try very hard to avoid mating, perhaps because it seems to last for days.
They jump around and even turn over on to their backs.
I only just noticed that the male has wings. Winged water striders are extremely rare in my pond, so it's possible that it has flown in to expand the gene pool.
