We visited the two neighbouring villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van in the Muong Hoa Valley. The rice terraces gently rise up the sides of the hills and mountains surrounding the villages.

Lao Chai is the home of the Black Hmong whilst Ta Van is the home of the Dzai. These are two of the many minority peoples in north Vietnam.

Some fun with filters on this one. A Watercolour filter has been applied along with various post production effects. The original shot was taken with a slower shutter speed to blur the cascading water.

Even though this region only gets a couple millimeters of rain per year, you can still see where the water is concentrating and giving life to a beautiful flora (and fauna!).

Seadragon is an App on my iPhone. It showed me my house. I was lying in bed when it's GPS option zeroed in on me. It was pretty amazing!

I'm not sure what else it does.

I don't remember the name of this stream, though I know I've heard it before. It empties into Kendall Lake.

I very recently started a new job after being laid off from my previous employer, so I haven't had much time to be out with my camera. This stream is on the property of my new employer, and was just too tempting not to grab a few shots.
