666 is a Leyland Atlantean AN68 new in 1978 with unique Northern Counties bodywork. The vehicle is a one-off, and featured many features which were light years ahead of its time back in '78, such as electronic destination displays, impact-absorbant front bumper, one-piece flat windscreen (with three wipers!) and an extremely angular front-end design. A strange vehicle, even by Nottingham's standards!

The vehicle is now preserved at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre, Ruddington.

This is really just one of the many random streams pouring off the mountains along the John Wayne Trail. I was kind of limited in what I could do with it because I had forgotten to throw a tripod in my backpack, but I think the resulting low-to-the-ground composition from having to just put the camera on the ground worked well.

I've been kind of MIA lately, courtesy of a never-ending move... I have one more "old" picture to upload, and then hopefully soon I'll get to finishing processing the pictures from vacation (which have now been sitting on my hard drive for a month!).

European mini-trip, Day 5

Monet created his water garden by taking water from the nearby Epte (a tributary of the Seine) and diverting it into a pond. The pond is, in fact, surrounded by multiple small streams, creating many opportunities for bridges and bank side flowers.

This small stream feeds water to the eastern part of the small village of Sunning hill Jamaica. We were walking up the hills so Mokko could show us where he has another chunk of land he owns..

We've been seeing amazing waterfall shots lately from Jamaica's flickr meet and we can't wait to go back! Just had to dig in our shots from last year and found this shot..

Judging the dimensions of the actual stream is tricky.. is it a small stream or a big river? Since we didn't bring a full tripod meant I had to use my gorillapod for this shot keeping the angles low to the ground.. or was it taken from an overlooking bridge?? I forget lol :)
