Meet Heather. Heather is a fourth year Veterinarian Medicine student studying at UCD. After graduation Heather will do an internship as a Veterinarian, at the time of this encounter, Heather was just waiting to hear back from them. Prior to moving out to Davis to study Veterinarian Medicine, Heather lived in New York City.
I had the pleasure of meeting Heather one sunny afternoon as I was on my way to grab a bite to eat at Mikuni's located in the Davis Commons in Davis. When I first saw her, I knew I wanted to invite her to participate in my 100 Strangers Project. So I introduced myself and she agreed to participate.

I was trying to make my way back to join the meet-up group who had moved on without me when I walked past one of the many local pubs in Newtown’s King Street. Out of the corner of my eye I saw two girls in uniform sitting at the bar that fronts the street. I immediately stopped and went back to speak to them as their appearance intrigued me. This is where I met Dani.
She was just about to tuck into a late lunch and relax after a hard day’s work with a cold beer when I interrupted her & asked for a photo. She listened intently to my blurb & then agreed.
Dani and her work colleague (unfortunately I don’t remember her name) are motor mechanics working for the local Toyota dealership in the Service Department. We talked about their jobs and how difficult it is for females to excel in this field. I asked if their lack of physical strength ever prevents them from doing their jobs & Dani said that modern equipment pretty much negates the need for brute strength and as they have much smaller hands than most men there is a distinct advantage as they can get into those tight spots when working on engines.
Prior to becoming a mechanic Dani worked in finance for 10 years, but gave it away to do something more physical & satisfying. She has great aspirations to open her own mechanical repair business specialising in providing a service that people can trust, especially to pensioners, the elderly and women. These people are primarily the innocent victims of unscrupulous mechanics who capitalise on their lack of mechanical knowledge.
I left Dani & her colleague feeling like I’d had met an old fashioned honest & hardworking girl who was down to earth, genuine & kind to others.
It was a pleasure to meet & know her and I believe she is the perfect stranger for finishing the Project because as I’ve discovered that, for me at least, the person I meet is more important than the portrait that I walk away with.

A special thankyou goes to everyone in this group (especially the moderators) who have welcomed me into the world of street portraiture. What a journey it’s been. I’ve met some amazing people, made good friends along the way, discovered that humanity isn’t anything to be frightened of & that I can overcome my fear of meeting strangers. The bonus was that I also got to improve my portraiture skills.
Most of all, I’ve had a lot of FUN!
I met Albert as I was doing some street photography in Camden, he saw me and posed for me as I took this shot. I found out that Albert was from Spain but that was all as I suddenly forgot all the Spanish that I had learnt. In terms of technique, I used a wide aperture for shallow depth of field and had him in a post where the light was evenly on his face. As this stage I am still finiding it very hard to ask people for pictures and was very happy to get my second on the board.

I was on my way back to the office and took a shortcut though a local park. I had two portraits for the day and wasn't really planning on more but when I saw Kimberly walking up to a bench I stopped in my tracks because the blue of her top along with her red lipstick and the green around us was too much to resist.
She lives in Brussels and was attending a conference on Egyptology. Wow. She's also studying arabic as a 4th language. That's pretty awesome to a boring old IT bloke such as myself.

Near Mykonos, near the centre of the Cyclades archipelago, is one of the most important mythological, historical and archaeological sites in Greece. The excavations in the island are among the most extensive in the Mediterranean; ongoing work takes place under the direction of the French School at Athens and many of the artifacts found are on display at the Archaeological Museum of Delos and the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
Delos had a position as a holy sanctuary for a millennium before Olympian Greek mythology made it the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. From its Sacred Harbour, the horizon shows the two conical mounds (image below) that have identified landscapes sacred to a goddess in other sites: one, retaining its Pre-Greek name Mount Kynthos,[1] is crowned with a sanctuary of Zeus.
Established as a culture center, Delos had an importance that its natural resources could never have offered. In this vein Leto, searching for a birthing-place for Artemis and Apollo, addressed the island:
Delos, if you would be willing to be the abode of my son Phoebus Apollo and make him a rich temple –; for no other will touch you, as you will find: and I think you will never be rich in oxen and sheep, nor bear vintage nor yet produce plants abundantly. But if you have the temple of far-shooting Apollo, all men will bring you hecatombs and gather here, and incessant savour of rich sacrifice will always arise, and you will feed those who dwell in you from the hand of strangers; for truly your own soil is not rich.

I usually look to combine my stranger along with a a suitably matching background. However, that can sometimes mean that you miss out on some great strangers if you get too fixated on it.
Colin had been wandering around Bermondsey area where we stumbled on this fantastic street food market which I will definitely come back to. The area was positively buzzing and I decided that the background wasn't important when I saw Lucas stroll on by. With the help of Colin's reflector I took this portrait of Lucas.
It was getting dark by this time and in order to get my exposure I had reduced my shutter speed dangerously low without realising it (in fact later shots were at an even slower speed!). This is therefore not quite as sharp as I would have liked but I still think it came well.

Stranger #82 – Tomasz –I spotted him in the centre of Wroclaw, Poland where his cool get-up and sunglasses immediately caught my attention. He was walking with a girl so I approached them and asked for photos thinking that I could get portraits of both of them. After explaining the project and a short conversation he agreed to take part without much hesitation but was a little unhappy because I needed him to take his sunglasses off. Surely, they added a lot to his swag but they wouldn’t have fitted to the project’s idea. Unfortunately, I failed to convince the girl. We moved to the shadows but still you can tell it was too bright for him ;) Anyway, Tomasz posed bravely and I decided to move back into direct sunlight and take a picture of him with glasses. I really like it so I’ll publish it on 500px in the near future. And it’s going to be in colour ;) Don’t forget to follow me there. It was really a nice and funny encounter and I hope you like the result :)

I was covering a golf tournament and walking through the golf course. A golf marshall approached me and asked if I wanted a golf cart (walking 18 holes is no joke). I said yes; while waiting for the cart I realized I've gotten a potential stranger shot. Although she was the one who approached me, I still took my chance and asked if I could take her photo for the project. She agreed.
Meet Lorna. She's been a golf marshall for 7 years. She also joins tournaments and definitely has the competitive form.
I used a wider cropping/framing her to show her golf get-up. It was a bright day and she was under the shade (of the cart) so the shot appears flat. i took several shots but decided on this one because it shows her in her elements.
Thank you Lorna for accompanying me cover the tournament (I was getting lost where the front and back nine were). Hope to see you in my next tournament coverage. We exchanged Facebook accounts so I could tag her there.

I first met and shot Miles one day in April this year as I walked up King Street. I was walking past a furniture shop when I spotted him sitting in a red lounge chair testing its comfort. He had a relaxed, distant look on his face. I stopped dead in my tracks, swivelled left and took one shot. Miles didn’t move a muscle and just casually smiled. I said thank you, leaned in to shake his hand and off I went.
When I got home that night I and processed the photo, I realised that it wasn’t too bad for a quick snap and began to regret not stopping to make him one of my “official” Strangers.
Last Saturday I was destined to meet Miles again as I spotted him sitting at an outdoor café table about to have lunch. We ran across the street to the café and this time I made sure he became one of my strangers.
He was more than happy to be part of the project and remembered clearly the day I snapped him in the furniture store. In fact, he said that had only just last night re-told the story to his friend of some “weird guy” taking a photo of him while sitting in a lounge chair. His friend looked at me and said “Oh, is that you?”
Miles lives not far from Newtown and works as a manager at a call centre. He is also studying Philosophy @ Sydney Uni and may go on to do a BSc.
On the side he plays guitar and sings in a band called Thatch Eaves Run with his friend and regularly plays gigs in the local clubs and pubs. You can listen to his music free here. Not bad all!
I liked Miles happy disposition and that his fist name reminds me of Jazz legend & trumpeter, Miles Davis..

It's getting harder to get everything to come together with a stranger. I would have liked to have found Mandy on the Swanston St bridge when the sun was a smidging higher to get more of the dress lit, and with the wind going the opposite direction.
I'll take what I can get. I really liked the way the dress was swishing around in the light.

I spotted Leo near the base of the recently rebuilt 6-floor high Les Arenes comercial center, where giant V-shaped metal beams and pillars of stone are evenly arranged in order to support the ancient bull ring's façade as well as the whole new modern structure.
Not hard to say why he caught my attention: being a heavy metal musica fan myself, speacially as a youngster, his looks were totally unmistakable and the long curly hair he sported not a common one.
As usual though, under an apparently tough appearance, a friendly though a tad shy guy was hiding.
Leo works in Barcelona, though he moved half a year ago from his native hometown in Southern Spain, searching for better opportunities. A friendly man that was clearly waiting for someone, so we didn't chat for long. Thanks for your time!

I met George in Ottawa in early October. He was stepping out from a local business on Bank street in the Glebe area when I approached him with my 100 strangers project. He was a bit skeptical at first but after hearing me out and viewing my business card he agreed to pose for a portrait.
George is 54 years old and is the president/owner of a marketing firm located in Cochrane, Alberta. He was in Ottawa on business. He grew up in Sudbury, Ontario and later went to college to become a tool and die maker. He lived in Ottawa for a while and eventually moved to Calgary. George owns a Harley motorcycle (he actually has a couple of bikes) and loves the mountains and fresh air in the region where he lives.

This past weekend I volunteered to photograph a Special Olympics basketball tournament. I was going about my business when I ran into another photographer that I knew, and she was accompanied by a young lady who would eventually become Stranger #115. The three of us began chatting, and I was immediately struck by the young lady’s spirit. Her name was Sheri, and her smile and enthusiasm was as delightful as it was contagious. An example was that I asked Sheri if she had played basketball yet, and she informed me that she had. When I asked her if her team had won, she responded with complete joy, “No, but we came in second!” I had never attended a Special Olympics event, and on that day I had already witnessed several wonderful things. Now this meeting with Sheri was completely lifting my heart even higher.
I had not planned on doing a stranger portrait on this day, but I couldn’t help myself with Sheri. I explained my project and she agreed to step out of the poorly lit gymnasium to a nearby window. She was terribly excited exclaiming that. “Nobody ever wants to take my picture.” As portraits go, technically this is kind-of a mess. I forgot to change my camera settings from the dark gymnasium, the pose is less than ideal, and I am sure I could have worked better lighting and backdrop given a little bit of thought, but it is all ok. I am happy to include this image in my project, but the fact is that I think I really desired Sheri’s portrait for my own personal motives more than anything else. Her image serves as an inspiration for me as well as a reminder of what was a truly wonderful day.

We need more Ambers in the world!
Amber was sitting in the window seat of MacDonalds with her friend enjoying an early lunch. I spotted her from the other side of the road and nearly got myself killed crossing over to get to her.
We had a full conversation through the glass with me asking if I could take her photo etc. Amber was happy to oblige (as her friend rolled her eyes) Apparently she attracts a fair bit of attention wherever she goes :) :)
Amber describes her style as 'vintage' and gets most of her gear from charity shops and 'Ding Dong Vintage' in Durham where she works. She hopes to go to London soon to study styling production as she'd love to work for fashion magazines.
I thought she was totally fabulous. Bright, colourful, stylish, confident, beautiful and unique - and I told her so (as her friend rolled her eyes again. I think she's heard it said many times before :D)

This time, I was at Auckland, in New Zealand for another conference. The second day of the conference, a dinner was schedule on a old steamboat . On the way to go to the docks, I saw this girl, waitress in a restaurant. I talk with her about the project (damn, it is so easier in english than in japanese!) and she accepted to be one of my strangers.

Brice is French but living in the UK. He has been in Somerset for 6 months and when I asked him how long he plans to say he said 5 years.
I had seen Brice go into the Billabong shop in Clarks Village and had thought about asking if I could take his photo when he came out. He was with 2 others and they looked to be continuing with their shopping. They headed away from the bench where I was sitting. I spotted them later at Café Nero and decided to see if they would mind being interrupted.
I asked if it would be OK to take Brice's photo and checked that they were happy for me to intrude on their coffee. Brice was up for it. Jay moved as she didn't want to be in any photos and Tom concentrated on his cheesecake. Jay and Tom are a couple and Brice lives with them, in Wells. Their day off had coincided and they had decided to visit Clarks Village.
Brice works in The Crown www.crownatwells.co.uk. He came over to England to improve his English. He visited London before, for about 3 months but he told me his language has improved much more this time.
When I asked him what he liked to do when he wasn't working. Brice said “not much” and Jay said “You liar”. She told me that “he likes to party”. Brice smiled.
Thank you Brice for agreeing to be part of my project and thank you to Tom and Jay for letting me take over your coffee time. It was good to meet you all today.

I don't know why the three females in front of me had stopped. I had seen them earlier at the top of Glastonbury Tor. At the time I had been considering approaching them for my project, but then Ivy (my stranger 288) had crossed my path. By the time I had finished with Ivy they had gone. As I passed them, on the road back to Glastonbury High Street, I was drawn by Jess's hair again.
A few yards beyond them I turned around and thought about it again. There was no shade and the sun was strong, nevertheless I decided to ask Jess if I might take her photograph. She agreed and I asked if I might walk with them until we found some shade, where I might take her portrait.
I asked if they were family and discovered that Naomi is the girlfriend of Jess. The other lady with them was Naomi's Mum. They were headed to the Blue Note Cafe in Glastonbury, so I suggested that I could take the photos near there.
Jess is studying art and will be going to university in the Autumn. She enjoys photography and has a large polaroid camera with her. She is also an illustrator. These days she enjoys doing portraits of people. When she first started at college she was encouraged to move in to this challenging area, from the more cartoon style work that she had been doing before.
Naomi is studying photography. Naomi has a Nikon camera and she likes to use a 50mm prime. Jess has modeled for her. Naomi said that her shoots are less spontaneous than mine – they are all planned out. She showed me some shots of Jess in a bath with lots of black paint. Evidently it took a bit of time to clean Jess's bath afterwards. They have also both shared a love of Cosplay and I saw a shot of them dressed up too.
After I had photographed Jess, I asked if she would like a photo with Naomi. Although Naomi had been a little reluctant (being more comfortable behind the camera rather then in front), she agreed and liked the photos when we reviewed them on my camera.
Thank you Jess for agreeing to be in my project. I am glad that you liked the photos. It was good to meet you, Naomi and her mum. I wish you well in your continuing studies.

Karam caught my eye because of her green hair (obviously) and since I was waiting intentionally in front of the entrance to a little mall, which you can see in the background, I just had to go after her and ask for a portrait there.
I made a slip of the tongue while explaining the project by saying that I was taking pictures of "strange" people (since it is called 100 strangers). At least, I noticed it right away and could correct it. Wouldn't be such a great compliment, right? :)
She agreed and I positioned her where I wanted her. The only problem was that it was very crowded with tourists there who also wanted to have a picture of the corridor. It took quite a while until no one jumped into the frame in a split second. I have another shot of Karam where she smiles a little more, but a woman who almost hid behind her just had to step out when I clicked..
Karam is from Korea and will be staying in Munich for a couple of days. She is on a tour around Europe all on her own, which I find very impressive. Interestingly, she is not in Munich because of the Oktoberfest which started just yesterday.

Continuing my walk in the St. Lawrence Market area of Toronto, I met Aaron on his way to work. After a brief explanation of my project, he agreed to a quick photo shoot.
Aaron is 30 years old and was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He moved to Toronto in 2001 to attend York University where he received his Bachelors of Fine Arts, majoring in Music Composition. He is the Artistic Director for SING! The Toronto's Vocal Arts Festival, Canada's premier a cappella festival (www.tvaf.ca/). Aaron also tours regularly as a member of 80s vocal band, Retrocity (www.retrocity.ca), The Watch (www.thewatch.ca/) a genre-hopping male quartet, and Countermeasure (countermeasuremusic.com/), a mixed vocal ensemble that Aaron directs, and that he co-founded in 2010.
Aaron Jensen was the grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Competition in the Jazz category in 2012, and is an Associate Composer with the Canadian Music Centre. Aaron's creative offerings have been performed across North and South America, Asia, Europe and Australia. He is currently working on a solo album which he is very excited about.
Aaron loves Toronto for its multiculturalism and vibrancy. It's a city where you can really have a go at a life devoted to the arts, he says. His favourite neighbourhoods are High Park and Roncesvalles.

I was at the 100 strangers london meetup. After taking a portrait of bomvu , we both notice a nice stranger. Bomvu had been faster than me and take first her portrait. Just when he finish, I ask to her for my project. When I finish, lyope ask her too (or maybe it is before bomvu and me) and take a picture of her. By the way, this girl is one of the most captured in the whole project I think :)

Wandering down one of the Avenues of Nottingham’s Sneinton Market, which was holding the 2025 Beltane Pagan Market, my path crossed with three people who I thought would make good subjects for my stranger project. All three agreed to being photographed so we headed to a quieter part of the Market which offered a choice of clean backgrounds that were in the shade.
First, I photographed Lochrann, after the girls had told him he needed to let his hair down for the picture – it had been tied up in a ponytail when I met him. You can see Karya and Megan as my next two strangers.
Lochrann and Karya had come to Nottingham from London, saying their move was driven by the need to find somewhere cheaper to live.
Lochrann works as a maintenance engineer. In his free time Lochrann enjoys wargaming and painting the figures that are used in the games. Lochrann told me he used to be in a black metal band but since coming to Nottingham he hadn’t formed, or joined another band.
I asked Lochrann to describe himself in one word and he said logical.
Lochrann’s guilty pleasure is alcohol.
If I could grant Lochrann a wish he said it would be for all difficult jobs to be automated – which would mean he’d get more work maintaining them.

Some month ago, I thought it could be nice to take a sister or a rabi, because they have a very particular style. I also wonder if I can ask Muslim women, because I know that in some culture and in some case it's forbidden to take picture of people.
So when I saw Sonia, I spontaneously asked her. She was quite surprised, but she accepted with a large smile. She then explained me she was in a hurry because she was going to the Mass. So I tried to be fast, the time to take several photos, to take her email address (modern sister :)) and to give her my card. No time to talk.

I met Rosie when I shot Sarsha Stranger #178 as she was also a member of the band playing at the Opera Bar.
Although Rosie was singing backing vocals and providing percussion via her Cajun, she is in her own right an accomplished musician/songwriter. You can check out her YouTube channel here or her website here. Not only does she sing, play guitar and percussion but also plays the Sitar which she learnt whilst growing up in India.She describes her music as a mix of organic pop, sprinkled with jazz and a touch of old world spirit.
We didn’t have much time to chat but I enjoyed taking a few frames with Rosie. She was very relaxed and worked with me to get the shot I was looking for.
As the band started their next music set I could see & hear that Rosie was really at home on the stage and a seasoned professional at her craft.

Kate enjoys singing. When I asked if she plays any instruments, Kate told me that she leads choirs. She has a full time job teaching and working with choirs. We agreed that singing is really good for you. You can read about some of Kate's work at Singing Mamas Choir.
Kate frequently visits Glastonbury with Nik (my Stranger 368). They were both enjoying a couple days off. Kate told me that there is quite a bit of administration with her job, so it was good to take a break from it.
Kate and Nik thought that my project was great. Kate told me of another project that she had come across. A man would ask two strangers to embrace each other, he would then film them. She told me that it was very interesting to watch.
After making portraits with Kate, I took some photos of the couple together. Kate told me that they had just got engaged. Nik had proposed to her yesterday!

A fellow flickerite contacted me the other day to say that he'd been frustrated in trying to start the 100 Strangers project. He'd been out twice and had rejections, one of them sounding quite nasty. He described the experience and asked if it was normal. It's not so I gave him some re-assurance and a few tips and since he works in London, offered to hook up for an evening to help him out. We met up and went walking and while chatting I spotted Susanna here coming our way. As she got nearer I saw a doorway that I liked and it all clicked together in that way that it often does.
Susanna is from Brazil and has been living here for 4 years. She said that it's good and bad. Given that it was cold an raining I could empathise with the bad bit. Still, she was nice enough to agree to my request despite her protestation that it was the end of the day and that she wasn't wearing any make-up. So we moved into the door way which had a lovely silver metallic surface which seems to be something I'm keen on at the moment. Thanks so much Susanna, I hope you like your portrait!
MrPhotobunny was relieved to see that it is possible to photograph strangers and went on to bag his first few strangers for the project, click the link on his name to check it out, he did good! So all in all a successful evening despite getting seriously rained on. But then we're Londoners so who's afraid of a little rain eh!

This is Alan. When I first saw Alan he was playing around with a rope and some trees with some friends down by the waterfront in Queenstown. I was intrigued by what they were doing and when we came back a couple of hours later we saw that they had strung the rope up and were tightrope walking across it!
This fascinated me so I started chatting to them about what they were doing. It turns out that they are all rockclimbers and they do this to build strength and balance which helps out in their sport.
Alan is in New Zealand from Brazil and he and his wife are living in beautiful Queenstown. They had just recently moved there from Auckland and are loving the smaller town and it's lifestyle.
He told me he was also interested in meditation and in fact had just been up near my home town doing a meditation course, around 2000kms away. Such a coincidence.
He talked me into having a go on the rope and it was a lot of fun, I didn't even fall off onto my head like I thought I would!
Stranger #99 – Christina – I met her in the centre of Wrocław, Poland. She was taking pictures with her phone, when I approached her and asked for a photo. This offer took her by surprise, but she agreed after I explained the project. As she had some time to spare I was able to take a lot of pictures in different lighting conditions. Afterwards, we chatted a bit and she told me she’s from Greece. This was the reason why she laughed so much during the shoot, she explained. She added that they're all very cheerful and thanks to her and Elli (stranger #72) that’s exactly how I see Greek people - they show great attitude towards life, I guess :) As you can see, it was a very nice encounter and I hope you like the result!

Due to the busyness of my new job, I have not taken a stranger’s picture in quite some time. I was invited to a wedding this afternoon and decided to perhaps jump-start my photo project in that venue.
At the wedding reception I was talking with a friend of mine whom I haven’t seen in over a year. During our conversation I noticed that another person was standing next to us the whole time. I introduced myself to her. After a few minutes of chitchatting, I asked if I could take her portrait. I gave her my card and explained the strangers project to her. She may have hesitated a bit, but she was willing to participate.
Meet Jessica. She is a relative of the bride – and a friend of whom I was talking with prior to meeting her. She was born and raised in Portland and now lives in San Francisco. She got her undergraduate degree from UC Davis and her MBA degree from Pepperdine. She is currently working for a start-up software company. She went on to explain what she does in detail, but if truth be told I was a bit lost in trying to understand her job. In her leisure Jessica enjoys hiking and eating out with her friends.
Jessica seemed fascinated by my project. I explained that Humans of New York was one of the reasons for my taking on this challenge. She really enjoys HONY and thinks it lends itself to human connection – that regardless of background and struggle, we are more or less the same.
In this picture you can see the reflection of the sister of the bride from her sunglasses. I wished I had noticed this earlier or I would have asked her remove her sunglasses. At any rate, thank you Jessica for participating in my project. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Maryland.

After a couple failed attempts, I mustered up the courage to talk to a stranger. Fran was smoking outside of a building waiting for a friend to come out. He's a film major at UArts. He was a pretty awesome guy to run into. He hitchhiked and went homeless in Europe for a few months. I admire people who can legitimately follow their passions whole-heartedly. Anyway, he was really cool, and I hope he checks this out.

Stranger #8 - she was sitting on a bench at State St, Santa Barbara, CA and doing something on her phone. It looked like she had been waiting for someone. So I asked if I could take a photo of her and briefly explained the project when she asked why. As you can see she agreed :)

Every summer thousands of young people from Europe flock over to the east coast of the United States to find temporary jobs. That is how I met Monika. Monika works on the beach in Ocean City, MD, renting out boogie boards, beach umbrellas and chairs. Then when she is finished at the beach, she heads over to her evening job working in a store just down the street. She can earn in two months here what it would take her six months to earn back home in Bulgaria.
This is Monika’s first visit to America. She is attending a university in Bulgaria, studying Library of Information Science. I told her that her English is very good and I understood everything she was saying. During the summer she lives in an apartment with some other people, including her boyfriend.
Monika, thanks for participating in my photo project. I hope your summer here is productive and fruitful.

This is Dave.
I've recently returned from a 1146 mile bicycle ride. With my son, we cycled from one end of the United Kingdom to the other. Before setting off I decided that it would be a brilliant opportunity to take lots and lots of photos for the 100 Strangers project. I was excited. I thought that I would probably be able to take thirty photos.
I took three. Yes, three.
It's not that I didn't have plenty of opportunities. We met a lot of lovely people. Interesting people. Weird people. Crazy people. What's my excuse then? I know that whenever we met people my teenage son looked embarrassed as soon as I reached for my camera. I could hear him telepathically insisting, 'No, no, no! Please, no. Not this time.' I don't want to blame him though. I enjoyed meeting people and I enjoyed not taking their photos. Leaving the camera in my saddlebag let me concentrate on conversations, without the nagging '100 Strangers voice' in my own head saying, 'Do it, do it! Ask them!' In the end, it was a relief when I decided not to take any photos for the project.
Anyway, here's the first of the three. Dave, along with his wife Mandy, runs Chy-An-Eglos Bed & Breakfast, a great place to stay if you're ever in Cornwall. Dave's a lovely, chatty man who'd also cycled the route we were taking, albeit in the opposite direction. We liked Dave a lot.

normally I don't put the number because I don't see them as another number in my project, more so a person I took the time to get to know when I could of kept walking. Also i have had this for sometime i just been looking for the phone that I had her name and contact in. sadly after months of looking no luck.
This is from my NYC round of people. She is a designer, who works in a dress boutique, were most of the designers are from japan and the dress are expensive. She said a lot of her stuff is flowing and looks bland on still frame, so it has to be shown on videos, I said i would take her challenge, and got her info, but i lost with the phone. still looking.

I bumped into a really nice couple in Mall of Dubai yesterday. He was taking pictures of his wife and waited until he was done before I approached them. I asked if I could take their photos and they agreed. Then we started talking and I found out they were British but living in Kuwait due to their business. They were on a vacation in Dubai and were liking the place.

Stunning. what else can I say? I approached these girls after getting rejected by "Lucky's" friends to shoot stranger pics. Something about them was just radiating. Clearly, in appearance they are stunning. But it was more than that. Their voices, mannerisms, everything--just beautiful. They were the most thrilled participants I have yet to shoot for my project. I told them that I would edit the picture and get it uploaded soon. However, when I went to edit it today, I realized I did not want to touch it at all. The were just way to perfect as-is. So, straight outta (rhonda's) camera....here you go: strangers #16, the beautiful Ayan and Muna. They are not sisters, just friends, and are from the Ann Arbor, Ypsi area.
