This photo is special to me because it was my first time to ask a complete stranger if I could take her photo. I was sitting outside on a patio having a beer when I noticed her at the next table. I finally drank enough alcohol to get my courage up to ask if I could take her picture. She said yes and then invited me to come see her perform at a local variety show and photographer her there as well.
As AI growes stronger the riffs in the matrix grow stranger. At what point do we wake to the Planet of the Apes only it is not Apes but AI that has humanity in bonds. Old Charlie stole the break handle and the train won't slow down!!!! (prism over the movie Matrix coded box)

Interesting weather yesterday... Sunny, windy cold, Cloudy, sunny, stormy, rain, sleet, snow, sun.. Etc. But I kind of love when it is time to go home and the tram is a bit steamy inside. Cool moody feel.

An amazing sunrise at Lake Chapman. Such stillness this early and I love how the sunlight sparkled off of the pavement
Meet Edgar. Edgar is 59 and an enthusiastic boules player. Every weekend he meets here at the Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt with his fellow players Johann, Manfred, Annelise and Liselotte (weather permitting). Two of the group are from Darmstadt and the other three come from Otzberg. The Mathildenhöhe is a well-known meeting place for boules players from the area, and it is not unusual to meet up to 100 of them here. I like the motion blur, and the concentration in Edgar's eyes. It almost looks like he is defying gravity, the way the heavy steel ball is hanging in the air. My thanks to the other members of this little team for their patience, and I hope they will forgive me for not using all of their photos.

St. Marie, Montana
St. Marie is one of the stranger and more surreal places I have been. And a hard place to try and get a handle on photographing. We were passing through, and need to go back with more time. It is a semi-ghost town. St. Marie is the dilapidated site of former Glasgow Air Force Base, which was in operation from 1957-1968 and then again from 1971-1976. When the AFB was decommissioned, homes were made available for sale to military veterans. Some were sold to individuals and some were sold to salvage companies. For whatever reason, much of the community escaped demolition. The result is a strange community with lots and lots of abandoned buildings and sites, and a few streets that fared better and have actual neighborhoods. It is in a very isolated spot in Valley County, Montana. The adjacent airfield is still in use and operated by Montana Aviation Research Company. From what I read, what they actually do is a bit of a mystery to nearby folks.
Meet Mark Gillespie. Mark, 39 and originally from Stockport in England, is probably the best street musician I have ever seen or heard. He originally came to Germany to record a CD, but the "got stuck" here. He has a regular stage band (he has supported Manfred Mann, Jethro Tull and Meatloaf), but he prefers to work the streets as a duo. If you see him anywhere in Germany, stop, listen and give him some money! Have a chat too, he's a very nice guy.

An Anhinga isn't the strangest thing on Horsepen Bayou but it is one of the stranger. They are commonly referred to as snake birds. Go figure.
I'm not sure what's stranger here. The weird colour scheme, the Netflix show, or the two masked ladies colour coordinated with the window display.

Meet Norbert. He is 40+ years old and makes his living as a magician. Today he was performing for children in the pedestrian precinct in Darmstadt, Germany. When I asked him if you could live being a magician, he answered "you are talking to me now, or do you think this is a trick?".
I asked before this performance if I could take photos of him at work, instead of a full-face portrait.

Aaah I love the classics. Nothing short of a miracle that I got two 2" long hummingbirds in flight, at least 20 feet above me. Dont be misled by those pine cones, they're tiny too.

I was waiting to cross the road when Burt spoke to me. He made a comment about the 4 transit cops across the road just coming out of the coffee shop. With coffee and donuts in hand Burt said "somethings never change and was just the same back home in the the US". I asked him if he was just passing through; "yes" he replied "for the last 20 years" and he laughed. "Maybe I should return home some day" he went on to say.
It was the first time i'd been down the beach for a few days, and it was great just to take in the sun , and hear the sights and sounds. The choughs and peregrines were nesting, and the house martins are back. This shot is for Angharad, a wonderful Flickr friend who was a passing stranger. She cycled from Cardiff to Tenby yesterday, 111 miles, and passed quite close to the beach. She's a star. Passing stranger is by Scott Matthews.

Meet Nick, who agreed to be part of the www.100strangers.com/ project.
Visitors to Long Beach CA are often drawn to the Queen Mary Ship that is now a local tourist attraction. On the upper deck is the ship's fine old radio room, fully operational and manned by volunteers. I met Nick when he invited me into the radio room. This gentleman has a passion for radio operations, he understands and knows the equipment, old and new, and dedicates his free time to keeping the radio room operational. It was easy to talk with Nick, in fact we began a lengthy discussion about the fate of the Titanic and the subsequent maritime investigation that was botched from the onset.
It was a real pleasure to meet Nick, folks like Nick all over the country need to be recognized and appreciated for their dedication to service and for the volunteer work they do. Nick, it was a pleasure to met you, I would like to resume our conversation some day....
