The original St John Ophthalmic Hospital opened by The Order of St John in 1882 on the Bethlehem Road just south of the old city of Jerusalem.
During the First World War, the hospital was closed and its building was taken over by the Turkish Army, who used it to store ammunition. During the Battle of Jerusalem in 1917, the building was damaged. Following the establishment of the British Mandate for Palestine, the architect Clifford Holliday was hired to renovate the building. Holliday also designed a new wing that was opened in 1930, on the opposite side of Hebron Road.
The Clifford Holliday wing was a two-story building built around an internal courtyard that was designed in an Eclectic Architectural style. The building was linked to the existing building across the street in a tunnel underneath Hebron Road; the tunnel was also used as a location for cold storage of medications. Most notable in the building is the Armenian room, which was designed by the Armenian ceramics artist David Ohannessian. In the 1960s, after the hospital moved to its current location, the Clifford Holliday wing became an arts and crafts centre (known as The Jerusalem House of Quality).
Following the 1949 Armistice Agreements between Israel and Jordan, the valley just below the hospital building and Mount Zion were designated as no-man's land. The hospital could not operate in this location anymore, since it became a front line dividing both sides. Additionally, access to the building was cut off from what became East Jerusalem.
The hospital's present building was opened in 1960 at Nashashibi Street in Sheikh Jarrah.
The St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group is today the only charitable provider of eye care in Gaza, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, where rates of blindness are ten times higher than in the West.
In the latter years of the 20th century, the Group opened satellite centres taking expert eye care to the people of Gaza, Hebron and Anabta and - importantly in the region – started operating Mobile Outreach Clinics, taking vital services to those unable to travel easily.
The main Jerusalem Hospital is a fully equipped, general eye hospital. It has a 49-bed capacity and is staffed by both foreign and local specialist surgeons, doctors, paramedics, overseas medical volunteers and nurses. There is a large, modern Outpatients Department and specialist retinal, corneal and paediatric services. The hospital also has a research unit.
The hospital has two operating theatres, with the most modern equipment that could be provided, giving a 24-hour emergency service where all kinds of major eye surgery are performed.
The group counts both Jewish and Muslim individuals and institutions amongst its supporters. It treats patients regardless of ethnicity, religion or ability to pay.
Kept in binders...they tend to slip out of their little pockets though, so I may have to look into another storage solution

Tim is loading our stuff into the storage center in Marina Del Ray. We haven't cleaned out the car since we landed in LA. We found computers and clothes that we thought were lost. November 8, 2003.

Here is a storage box inside a container – not quite as exciting as when you see it on Storage Wars is it? You can quite easily fit the contents of a house into the container. You can store cars, motorbikes or sports equipment – its not just about for when you move home.
Feel free to use any of our photos – we would love to see them on your site or on your blog – please include an attribution link back to www.binghamselfstorage.co.uk/

Storage of electricity is arousing fresh interest as a complement to intermittent generation and an alternative to costly grid expansion plans. Given the rapid increase in RES (mainly wind) generation and the obstacles to construction of new lines and even to an upgrading of the existing ones, TSOs and energy companies are looking for alternatives. Alternative solutions are:
1. Reinforcement of the networks
2. Greater flexibility of existing generators, e.g. CCGTs
3. Electricity storage via hydro systems (pumping stations)
4. Other techniques of electricity storage: compressed air and car-type batteries
5. Demand response (possibly accompanied by diffusion of electric vehicles)
Which alternative looks most promising?
Should the solution be left to market forces or are there regulatory choices to be made?

The basement also houses parts of the collection that we don't have space for upstairs. The large metal handle on the right moves shelves from one side of the room to the other to allow maximum storage and access.
This is a newly emerged adult storage mite - Tyrophagus putrescentiae. This was taken with the macro lens focussed into a dissecting microscope at maximum magnification. This specimen is about 0.2 mm in length - barely visible to the naked eye. These little guys are commonly found in grain stores and dry food stuffs. I was able to isolate some from the kitchen at my old apartment. And yes, like their cousins the dust mites, they are a common source of allergies.
storages data can actually be stored in databases or be distributed among different file systems, but the actual storage organization does not matter for an end-user. The user observes only a set of objects accessed through an API, or, as a variant, through file system calls. Good example is cloud storages. These types of data storages are to be used in large software complexes. Among other advantages one can mention unified data access without a need to think about actual ways how data are stored. Its disadvantages - they cannot be efficiently managed and controlled, and backup or migration of data is complicated.

The parts in the yellow toolbox and the drop in part are pieces that I have not completed sorting yet. I won a eBay auction for 6 lbs of Lego and I got it for 45 bucks free shipping. In the tool box they have been basically sorts by type only (Plate, brick slope, etc) . And in the blue bucket are just extra bricks that would not fit in the main storage area.
Long story short - The storage shed was unlocked and we had to look inside before closing the combination padlock. No harm done, but we were tempted to get a wheelbarrow full of pig poop & park it inside as a reminder to actually make sure the door was LOCKED.
D-Block Project’s inaugural exhibition.
“Open Storage”
“Open Storage” is an invitation for artists to use D-Block Projects as storage facility and exhibition space for artworks that were being stored in their studios and out of view of the public’s eye. This exhibition draws upon the “open storage” trend found in several museums where storage facilities are opened to the public to see the otherwise private existence of stored art. The open storage experience removes the historical context of works and instead displays work based on the size, logistics of storage and the availability of space.
The exhibition “Open Storage” aims to create a heterogeneous display of artworks that have an intended random association to each other and require the viewer to create a narrative or framework outside of the traditional method of viewing art.
“Open Storage” will be D-Block’s inaugural exhibition and a transitional organization of art works as D-Block begins it’s 2011 programming at 218 The Promenade in Downtown Long Beach, CA.

There's this amazing vintage poster store just around the corner from my office, downtown, on west broadway. I went in there today to check out some of the goods and had to stop and be amazed at the owners system of storing his art pieces. There's this HUGE wall with stacks of card board tubes. He was all proud of his 'construction'....
The storage shed at the history brick plant at Claybank, Saskatchewan is used to store bricks salvaged from demolished buildings around the province. The random nature of the stored bricks and the colours and patterns caught my attention as I walked through the shed.

Typical storage boxes contain your items, but the inside becomes cluttered – making it difficult to find what you need. Rubbermaid’s Bento collection is designed to organize items, rather than just store them. The Bento Boxes have internal flex dividers, which enable you to divide the space by creating unique sections when needed. Boxes can stack vertically, or fit inside each other. Bento Trays can act as trays or covers, providing an extra layer of organization for the Bento Boxes, or hiding what’s inside. The Bento Collection is made from sturdy materials, and the heavy-duty decorative fabric enables it to remain out in your social spaces while complementing your home’s décor.
