Storage of electricity is arousing fresh interest as a complement to intermittent generation and an alternative to costly grid expansion plans. Given the rapid increase in RES (mainly wind) generation and the obstacles to construction of new lines and even to an upgrading of the existing ones, TSOs and energy companies are looking for alternatives. Alternative solutions are:
1. Reinforcement of the networks
2. Greater flexibility of existing generators, e.g. CCGTs
3. Electricity storage via hydro systems (pumping stations)
4. Other techniques of electricity storage: compressed air and car-type batteries
5. Demand response (possibly accompanied by diffusion of electric vehicles)
Which alternative looks most promising?
Should the solution be left to market forces or are there regulatory choices to be made?
Each apartment here has a storage unit, located here in the middle of an enclosed courtyard. The street is littered with the remnants of firecrackers from the Lunar New Year.

I had a bunch of old Silicon Chip magazines sitting in a cardboard box and since I'm on a quest to rid my house of cardboard boxes (evil, horrible things) I decided I needed a magazine storage solution.
Sure, I could drive down to Officeworks (A megastore of stationary here in Australia) and simply pick one up off the shelf for a few dollars (Well, $15 for one this size). It would have been a no-brainer. But that just didn't seem sporting!
So last night I sat down in front of my computer and fired up CorelDRAW and designed this and today, armed with a sheet of 6mm MDF, I set my laser cutter to work. It's got enough room to fit a bunch of magazines and should I need more I can just cut them out! I figure it cost me about $6 for the MDF - less than half the cost of buying one :)

Typical storage boxes contain your items, but the inside becomes cluttered – making it difficult to find what you need. Rubbermaid’s Bento collection is designed to organize items, rather than just store them. The Bento Boxes have internal flex dividers, which enable you to divide the space by creating unique sections when needed. Boxes can stack vertically, or fit inside each other. Bento Trays can act as trays or covers, providing an extra layer of organization for the Bento Boxes, or hiding what’s inside. The Bento Collection is made from sturdy materials, and the heavy-duty decorative fabric enables it to remain out in your social spaces while complementing your home’s décor.

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) addresses carbon emissions that contribute to climate change, which has become an international challenge. One option for reducing greenhouse gas buildup in the atmosphere is storing it deep underground. Laboratory experiments confirm that carbon dioxide is effectively trapped when injected into basalt formations.

There are many things in diabetes that can be consuming. The supplies it takes to keep my son alive and safe not only consume my house and wallet but also my heart and mind. No child should have to live with such medical baggage.

storages data can actually be stored in databases or be distributed among different file systems, but the actual storage organization does not matter for an end-user. The user observes only a set of objects accessed through an API, or, as a variant, through file system calls. Good example is cloud storages. These types of data storages are to be used in large software complexes. Among other advantages one can mention unified data access without a need to think about actual ways how data are stored. Its disadvantages - they cannot be efficiently managed and controlled, and backup or migration of data is complicated.

This is a storage headboard concept I toyed with for a while before settling on my curtain wall storage solution. It consists of 5 Ikea Akurum tall kitchen cabinets with brown/black doors. The 3 center cabinets are the 12" depth and the 2 "nightstand" cabinets are the 24" depth. The nightstand cabinets would have had 3 drawers on the lower portion and 3 cabinets on the upper portion. The headboard portion would have featured 12 fully functional cabinets above the bed adding an additional 30 cubic feet of storage. When you factor in the additional storage from the "nightstand" cabinets, you end up with additional storage the equivalent of adding an entire extra closet to your home in the same general footprint as just a normal bed and nightstands. The bed frame shown is the queen sized West Elm storage bed with under bed drawers, but any queen sized bed frame could probably work.
To prevent items from falling out and hitting me on the head in earthquake prone Los Angeles, each cabinet door above the bed would need to be fitted with a push touch latch and an earthquake safety latch.
A classic for the anime enthusiast! Despite being only a recast kit, this piece offers much room for added details beyond the original.
Personal additions are many free-standing cables (made from aluminum wire), several original resin details were sanded away and replaced by more plastic wire, too. For instance, there's a solid resin cable loom that is to be fitted to the figure's back - but I rejected this piece and rather built a more "blooming" alternative from different sorts of wire, so that the whole figure gains more depth and space.
Furthermore, on the figure's back several "data storage plugs" were added, inspired from sketches in the GITS manga; these are various iron bombs from aircraft model kits.
The base was modified, too: the original plaque was a bit rough and flimsy, so I added a flat glass dish (actually a candle holder!) underneath, which also provides a Much lower CG and therefore better stability.
Painting was done completely by brush and enamels, almost any tone was mixed in order to create a conclusive look and to come close to the figure's origins, several illustrations for the GITS manga.
Lots of work, but worth the effort.
I covered this plastic storage cart to look like luggage labels! Since all of this in in our family room, my husband finds it much more appealing!!

This was taken at the storage I use for keeping all my toys from a time before children. You know, turntables, mixer, speakers, amps (guitar and hi-fi) and many, many records. I had to find some space for framed photographs that we didn't sell during our last exhibition. They will be used in future but until then they get to hang out with all my fun stuff I no longer have room for. One day...

The water storage made of Pottery is the best known method since the old days to cool the water. The taste of the water out of this Pottery ware is unmatched to any plastic or glass bottles available around. Sometimes there is no match in today's world to what has been known ages ago (Shot at the Heritage Village, Dubai, UAE)
