We have many great stools at the moment; here's another creative combination of hand-worked wrought iron and raw wood.
This is a small multiple use foot stool. It sort of grew out of the work on the iceberg sofa which being low to the ground had you crying out for something to put your feet up on. As it evolved, it grew this extra little rounded surface. This turned out to be an excellent handle and also with the stool positioned in the correct orientation, an excellent support for under the knee. The rails on the sides also offer a place for the foot to press. I turned the wood from elm, the tubular steel was brazed and then I carried it to a metal plating company to have it coated with nickel.

Surprised Kaylee with some ice cream for lunch. I love this little old time ice cream shop down town.

For some reason I just love this pose, maybe its the natural exposure without flash, maybe its the way I have crossed my legs?

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN--This tiny stool is the CUTEST!! Great pencil legs are enhanced with beautifully done upholstery: green zebra and black piping, with a single button in the center. Perfect for a small dressing table.
Found the stool in the garbage across the street. Took off the gross vinyl cover & added a layer of plain fabric as a barrier & then this Sukie handkerchief. I love the garbage!
Metal stool with adorable curled ends to the legs. We think the shape echoes local vintage window grilles. (of which we have 2 billion right now, so where are you, all those people who enquired in vain when we didn't have any, hmm?) Hand-antiquing gives the stool a vintage feel.
Top diameter 34.5cm, height 45cm.

Kevin's idea is to keep from sending stuff to the landfill. The boots were too shabby to send to Goodwill so they would have wound up in our trash. The jeans were so worn out, beyond repair, so he cut them off below the damaged knees. The seat is made from left over upholstery scraps, carpet padding and scrap lumber.
I crocheted a new cover a sentimental stool in my kitchen. Blogged here: twentythreeviolets.blogspot.com/2011/01/my-weekend-diy-pr...

Contrary to the words on the stool, I definitely did not make this myself. In May of 1977 I was 9 and not good with power tools. I distinctly remember my gruff pipe smoking shop teacher building it. It used to be painted yellow but the Oregon rain has faded it.
