Today's breakfast: vanilla yogurt, a fresh peach and granola. Basically my perfect breakfast (total perfection would have been maple yogurt, but that is becoming tougher to find).

Hand built wood child's stool with a precious hand painted elephant. She's almost done. All she needs is the glossy top coat! See photostream for other shots of the sides. The stool has been stained with a rich olive green stain. Photo doesn't show how glorious that stain looks!
More shots from this year's Champlain Valley Fair. I went kind of crazy with the camera there. : ) You can see me crouching down in the reflection.

This stool represents a right angle, a polygon ( a reactangle ) The form is a square, but it's really a bunch of rectangles.

The arrival of the bar stools heralded the end of an era - no more dining on the garden furniture for this fox and polar bear!
The chairs, painstakingly chosen to be the correct height for Mrs PB to sit at, were immediately put to use...
Design by "Luca 12:00". The Nubin Stools were shown as part of a collection of products inspired by traditional korean quilting called "Nubi". It is a process of placing cotton lining between two pieces of fabric and sewn in geometric patterns. It is most commonly seen as in a traditional bride's blanket, but the technique is also used for military blankets, men's overcoats, cushions and otherproducts that need insulation.

The Nubin Stool takes a cue from this technique but uses discarded newspaper as the liner. The sandwhiching fabric is a mesh so that the graphics of the paper shows through.
The project is part of the Seoul Design Festival Designer's Lab.

This is a stool I've been working on the last few weeks. My goal is to assemble a stool together using thermoforming, and through this, eliminate the need for fasteners. By using what would normally be considered "consequences" of vacuum-forming, the undercuts and trapping of wood add to it's structure.

This is the stool that was given to me in Court on Saturday. Next to it are a stool ball bat and two balls made from a medieval pattern. The bat bears one of my badges.
Bar stool covers, fronts and the back of the back of the third one. I made the pattern up while I was at my mom's house and she was at work...made to fit her bar stools perfectly. These were for Mother's Day.

I went to an Estate Sale today and it didn't happen. For some unknown reason, they just didn't open their doors. It was so disappointing! Then I went to a garage sale where the woman was having a nervous breakdown because her husband was selling her things {I'm not kidding}. I was really about to give up when I forced myself to go across the street to the neighbor's sale, where I found this fabulous vintage industrial stool. It more than made up for the downer moments...
