Creating innovative solutions to solve the most difficult mobile electronics challenges is what makes our job fun! Back in 2006, we were tasked with installing one of the first aftermarket audio systems (Kenwood navigation system with SiriusXM satellite radio, Kenwood 6-disc CD changer, and Fusion amplifier) in this just-released Porsche Cayman S. At the time, the Cayman was so new to the market that there were no vehicle-specific wiring or dash kits available. So our expert installation team did their own research & development, engineered their own wiring kit, and fabricated their own dash trim adapter to complete the installation with factory-perfect fit and finish!

It’s Thursday! So let’s throw back to one of our favorite projects, from 2008: A fleet of ’08 Chevrolet Tahoe full-size SUVs that we transformed into mobile marketing tools for Bridgemaxx, a provider of high-speed wireless internet access. They needed a mobile event, presentation, & meeting machine that could entertain a crowd and demonstrate the capabilities of their service. So we created a slide out desk (for quick and easy set-up), a custom designed “bridge” (to hold the wireless modem provided to Bridgemaxx subscribers), and installed a state-of-the-art entertainment center consisting of a 1500 watt power inverter, flat screen TV, LED lighting, PA system with wireless microphone, 2 Fusion amplifiers, and subwoofers, speakers, & CD/DVD player from JVC. Designing and fabricating these unique vehicles was a fun and engaging challenge, for our talented installation team, and they served Bridgemaxx as highly-effective marketing assets!

And back in 2007, even though we had only been open a short time, they trusted the team at California Custom Sounds to do it right! So we fabricated a custom ported enclosure to house a Diamond Audio subwoofer, in the spare tire well, and we built a new steel mesh-reinforced trunk panel, to protect the sub and port. To provide power to the system, a pair of stacked Diamond Audio amps were installed. And we maintained the original factory look and function of the trunk, by reinstalling the original metal rails, on top of the new trunk panel. Do you remember when the Mustang SVT Cobra was one of the fastest muscle cars around? Twenty years ago, few cars could touch the performance of the SVT Cobra, and this super-clean example still looks better than new. But over time, its stereo system was beginning to show its age, so the team at Stereo-In-Dash North Dixie recently brought this car into the modern era with a touchscreen Kenwood DVD/CD receiver complete with built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling and audio streaming.

Today, we’re throwing back to August 2015, when the owner of this Dodge RAM 1500 pickup truck came to us with a challenge! He wanted big bass and a high quality navigation receiver, but he didn’t want to sacrifice his limited rear seat space or the clean factory look of his original dash. So our skilled fabrication team built this custom fiberglass under-seat subwoofer enclosure to house a pair of JL Audio 13TW5 subwoofers, which were perfect for this application, because they require only 2.625 inches of mounting depth. We also fabricated this custom dash bezel and installed a Kenwood eXcelon double-DIN navigation radio.

What’s so special about the iLX-F309 Alpine Halo9? Its size (9-inches!!) and its unique mounting system! The Alpine Halo9 uses a single-DIN chassis for installation, but it’s large 9-inch digital touchscreen “hovers” in front of the vehicle’s dash from an adjustable mount. The Alpine Halo9 was the perfect solution for this 1998 Dodge Ram extended cab truck, and the team at Stereo-In-Dash South was excited to get the chance to install one, along with an Alpine backup camera, Focal speakers, Alpine slim line 8-inch powered subwoofers, and an Alpine 4-channel amp.

Not content to settle for the best in British luxury, the owner of this Jaguar XK wanted a new custom sound system. And back in 2007, even though we had only been open a short time, they trusted the team at California Custom Sounds to do it right! So we fabricated a custom ported enclosure to house a Diamond Audio subwoofer, in the spare tire well, and we built a new steel mesh-reinforced trunk panel, to protect the sub and port. To provide power to the system, a pair of stacked Diamond Audio amps were installed. And we maintained the original factory look and function of the trunk, by reinstalling the original metal rails, on top of the new trunk panel.
