So let’s throw back to one of our favorite projects, from 2008: A fleet of ’08 Chevrolet Tahoe full-size SUVs that we transformed into mobile marketing tools for Bridgemaxx, a provider of high-speed wireless internet access. They needed a mobile event, presentation, & meeting machine that could entertain a crowd and demonstrate the capabilities of their service. So we created a slide out desk (for quick and easy set-up), a custom designed “bridge” (to hold the wireless modem provided to Bridgemaxx subscribers), and installed a state-of-the-art entertainment center consisting of a 1500 watt power inverter, flat screen TV, LED lighting, PA system with wireless microphone, 2 Fusion amplifiers, and subwoofers, speakers, & CD/DVD player from JVC. Designing and fabricating these unique vehicles was a fun and engaging challenge, for our talented installation team, and they served Bridgemaxx as highly-effective marketing assets!

Today, we’re throwing back to August 2015, when the owner of this Dodge RAM 1500 pickup truck came to us with a challenge! He wanted big bass and a high quality navigation receiver, but he didn’t want to sacrifice his limited rear seat space or the clean factory look of his original dash. So our skilled fabrication team built this custom fiberglass under-seat subwoofer enclosure to house a pair of JL Audio 13TW5 subwoofers, which were perfect for this application, because they require only 2.625 inches of mounting depth. We also fabricated this custom dash bezel and installed a Kenwood eXcelon double-DIN navigation radio.

Do you have a “dream car”? Our boss, Zack, had always dreamed of owning a 10th Anniversary Mazda RX-7. And though it took a long time to find one, when given the chance to buy one of only 1500 ever made, he jumped on it. And while the car is awesome and was definitely worth the wait, the audio system sounded like it was from 1988 (because it was), so Zack has been busy making some upgrades! When the plastic overhead storage compartment, in this Nissan Titan truck, became brittle and cracked, the owner discovered that the cost to replace it with new factory parts was surprisingly expensive. Thinking outside the box, he considered alternative solutions and decided to replace it with a new flip-down DVD player. So he got in touch with the team at our West Carrollton store, where Vinnie fabricated a custom mounting solution and installed an Audiovox overhead mobile video system. Now, not only is there no more broken plastic, but the backseat passengers will be entertained for hours! Off road recreation workhorse or tune-cranking party machine? How about both! Today, we’re throwing back to 2013, when we installed a massive sound system upgrade, in this Toyota FJ Cruiser! First, we removed the factory components (including the original Toyota 8-inch subwoofer that looked oddly out-of-place, in the rear cargo area). Then we insulated strategic locations with Dynamat. And we installed a very high-quality Linear Power Blues component set and subs, consisting of dash-mouted tweeters, door-mounted 8-inch midrange speakers (using our own custom-fabricated adapter plates), and four 10-inch subwoofers in a pair of vehicle-specific enclosures (that looked even more integrated than the original factory unit)! This project turned this unique ride into the owner’s perfect all-purpose play machine, and we were glad to do our part! Not content to settle for the best in British luxury, the owner of this Jaguar XK wanted a new custom sound system. And back in 2007, even though we had only been open a short time, they trusted the team at California Custom Sounds to do it right! So we fabricated a custom ported enclosure to house a Diamond Audio subwoofer, in the spare tire well, and we built a new steel mesh-reinforced trunk panel, to protect the sub and port. To provide power to the system, a pair of stacked Diamond Audio amps were installed. And we maintained the original factory look and function of the trunk, by reinstalling the original metal rails, on top of the new trunk panel. And while the car is awesome and was definitely worth the wait, the audio system sounded like it was from 1988 (because it was), so Zack has been busy making some upgrades! He wanted to maintain the original appearance, while achieving a modern audiophile sound, so fortunately the JL Audio TW3 Power Wedge and a pair of JL Audio MX Series 500-watt amplifiers fit perfectly in the spare tire well! It’s Thursday! So let’s throw back to one of our favorite projects, from 2008: A fleet of ’08 Chevrolet Tahoe full-size SUVs that we transformed into mobile marketing tools for Bridgemaxx, a provider of high-speed wireless internet access. They needed a mobile event, presentation, & meeting machine that could entertain a crowd and demonstrate the capabilities of their service. So we created a slide out desk (for quick and easy set-up), a custom designed “bridge” (to hold the wireless modem provided to Bridgemaxx subscribers), and installed a state-of-the-art entertainment center consisting of a 1500 watt power inverter, flat screen TV, LED lighting, PA system with wireless microphone, 2 Fusion amplifiers, and subwoofers, speakers, & CD/DVD player from JVC. Designing and fabricating these unique vehicles was a fun and engaging challenge, for our talented installation team, and they served Bridgemaxx as highly-effective marketing assets!
