Not content to settle for the best in British luxury, the owner of this Jaguar XK wanted a new custom sound system. And back in 2007, even though we had only been open a short time, they trusted the team at California Custom Sounds to do it right! So we fabricated a custom ported enclosure to house a Diamond Audio subwoofer, in the spare tire well, and we built a new steel mesh-reinforced trunk panel, to protect the sub and port. To provide power to the system, a pair of stacked Diamond Audio amps were installed. And we maintained the original factory look and function of the trunk, by reinstalling the original metal rails, on top of the new trunk panel. Off road recreation workhorse or tune-cranking party machine? How about both! Today, we’re throwing back to 2013, when we installed a massive sound system upgrade, in this Toyota FJ Cruiser! First, we removed the factory components (including the original Toyota 8-inch subwoofer that looked oddly out-of-place, in the rear cargo area). Then we insulated strategic locations with Dynamat. We love it, when our amazing manufacturing partners bring their demo vehicles for a visit! This week, the Kicker Mustang made a stop at all three of our stores, allowing each of our team members to try out the newest Kicker Q-Class products. We were especially impressed with their brand new L7QB8 loaded aluminum sub enclosure; it sounds awesome and provides lots of impact, body, and depth, for such a compact subwoofer.
