There are just some photographs that need to be in monochrome or black and white. It gives a more powerful statement to the photo and what the photo is depicting. Such as the case here, when Ella came to visit today.
Some outfits are just clothes. Others are a statement. This is the latter.

Today I spent a little time putting the new Nikon D5 through its paces - the 10 images shown here represents a cross section of what I took today.
I can say with full assuredness, that this is by far the best camera model on the market (yeah, I know some Canon users are going to get all bent out of shape at that statement, but suck it up).
The autofocus is fast and tracks well in low light and against cluttered backgrounds. At 14 frames per second, it doesn't miss a shot.
All images shown were shot at 3200-4000 ISO. Why? Because I can!!!! What a pleasure to shoot birds at F8-F11 at + 6000th of a second. Now I'm not suggesting that is what I'm going to be shooting at all the time, this was simply a test, and by far, exceeded all my expectations.
All images shot in TIFF mode (have not checked yet to see if there is a Camera Raw plugin for the D5), the camera never buffered out once.
Here is a second view of my Statement LBD - I hope you like it! The winning Statement Dress will be back for another day in court in the New Year - along with the winner of my 'Corsage Dresses' Autumn Contest. My lover is (weather permitting!!) about to whisk me off to New York for the Christmas and New Year Holidays - so I will be away from my photostream for the next couple of weeks. Voor de ingang van Algemene Zaken, stond een jonge vrouw op een kruk met ontbloot bovenlijf terwijl ze haar borsten met viltstiften aan het roodkleuren was. Niemand wist wat hier gebeurde, na enig rondvragen zei iemand: "vraag het haar zelf maar". Dus dat deed ik. "Ik maak een statement" zei ze. Waarover, waartegen, waarom? "Een radicaal statement" zei ze. Maar ondertussen kwamen 2 politieagenten die haar sommeerden de borsten te bedekken en mee te komen naar.... nog onbekend.
Iemand vroeg mijn kaartje (heb ik altijd bij me) want ze wilden deze foto's wel hebben. Ik hoor later wel waarover dit radicale statement ging.

For the pahmphlet i was stuck by this sentence within the assignment "a radical message in a radical way." So i first thought about what a radical way was. I believe this is when it's unerasable. So i was thinking about writing with lipstick on some white walls in the school and what not. Then it developped in being an unerasable image in peoples minds. Or maybe what wpuld.ignite the most reaction.
As i did a naked performance once in school, and some were kind of crossed by that. And i knew that my breasts evoked this same kind of reaction on people, both on social media, in public and even under a shirt without bra, i wanted to do something with the ridicoulousness of this given. Especially nipples being censured as breasts are over sexualized and the increasing prudishness of society, which is especially taken out on female bodies, i wanted to question the radicality of my flesh. Is this radical enough for you? Is it radical at all? Police sure did thought so.
With writing variations of this question on my breats until covered, I state that breasts shouldn't be so radical - which apparently was quite a radical message an sich.

artist statement: Multiverse celebrates the richness of cross cultural connections in our lives. As an Iranian-Australian I explore multi-layered association of reminiscence and belonging with nature-culture through experiencing the opportunity of living in both environments. Cut roots have long been metaphorically associated with human migration and displacement. These tree stumps carry tattoo-like imagery that are burnt into their skins and are inspired by traditional Persian patterns and calligraphy. They were collected at Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt CootTha an
d belong to widespread species in Queensland that were once planted from introduced seeds.

In the 9-16 years I rarely missed a day of hiking the foothills of Mt. Diablo and the East Bay Regional Hills, I doubt if there was a day when I didn't see a California Ground Squirrel. I never learned much about them. In fact, all I did learn was by observing them. I'm sure they were in communities but more spread out than Prairie Dog Towns. I also watched them long enough to know that every burrow had at least two entrances and exits or exits and entrances, each about 80 feet (my estimate) from the next. There were no signs saying, "Welcome" or "Go Away," but when the call went out that a raptor had been spotted (by this guy who was the designated sentry for the day), there'd be squirrels bolting in all directions and down the hole for safety. Their system wasn't foolproof or even raptor proof, but most often, when I saw one that had been caught off guard, it was obvious he was never on his guard to begin with: every kill I saw was to a Western Diamondback. I never could stand to watch the process: just something about squirrels...
The California ground squirrel (Otospermophilus beecheyi), also known as the Beechey ground squirrel, is a common and easily observed ground squirrel of the western United States and the Baja California Peninsula; it is common in Oregon and California and its range has relatively recently extended into Washington and northwestern Nevada.
As is typical for ground squirrels, California ground squirrels live in burrows which they excavate themselves. Some burrows are occupied communally but each individual squirrel has its own entrance. Although they readily become tame in areas used by humans, and quickly learn to take food left or offered by picnickers, they spend most of their time within 25 m (82 ft) of their burrow, and rarely go further than 50 m (160 ft) from it. How about that, I estimated correctly. So my seven years was not a total waste.
In the colder parts of their range, California ground squirrels hibernate for several months, but in areas where winters have no snow, most squirrels are active year-round. In those parts where the summers are hot they may also estivate for periods of a few days. Squirrels mate for only two weeks during the spring and the pups become sexually active at one year. In other words, there will always be a lot of squirrels. They eat seeds and some insects and, though I've never - not in 50 years - seen one in town or burbs, supposedly they're "the scourge of suburban neighborhoods," a statement made by someone who doesn't like squirrels, because the more likely culprit would be mule deer which have roses as the entree to every other meal. Wild turkeys around here do quite a bit of damage as well though they live in the hills. If you're wealthy enough to live in one of the cities that abut the Open Space of Diablo, you're wealthy enough to replace your roses. If you have no money, what are you doing living in an $8 million home on Diablo, and still entertaining having wild turkey for Thanksgiving?
Just a short story: One of the owners of one of the "estates" went to court to have his property taxes reduced because he didn't know that the wildlife was going to eat him out of house and home. Case dismissed: have the wildlife chip in to pay the taxes was the wry reply.

Whether you agree or not, the owners of this property were making a statement about their beliefs on abortion. It wasn't a pretty scene - there was almost no color, a fine powdery snow in the air made it look hazy, and the remains of the adjacent house were a charred ruin from a recent fire.
