Cada cruz, un soldado muerto en Irak. Los que protestan dicen que tendrían que llenar la playa de cruces.
"I want to tell you something. You know, this whole camouflage thing for me doesn't work very well.
Why is that? Well, because you go in the jungle, I can't see you. You know, it's like wearing stripes and plaid. For me, I want to do something different. You know, you go in the jungle, make a statement. If you're going to fight, clash."

A gorgeous oval shaped cabochon of labradorite is set in a custom setting. It is entirely handmade by me in fine and sterling silver. The stone boasts flashes of blues and greens, which is typical of labradorite, but this one also has amazing pink and gold flashes, as well as some darker striations. It is an interesting stone that would look amazing on any hand!
a statement of defiance as life tears away at me and mine.
it doesnt matter how tough shit gets. who comes and goes. who walks over me. who takes for me. who scoffs at my beliefs. who judges me in secrecy. ill always be me. ill always have a smile. and ill always draw a laugh from life. in life, all i know and love is temporary. the only constant is me.

“Modernizing Maniac (On the Invention of Urgency)” examines the moment when time stopped being measured and began being enforced.
The clock, once a tool for orientation, becomes a mechanism of pressure—its hands blurred by motion, its face aged by use. Modernity promised progress, but it also introduced acceleration as a moral standard. To fall behind became a kind of failure. To rest, a deviation.
This work reflects on how obsession is often rewarded when it wears the language of innovation. The maniac is not chaotic—he is punctual, precise, and sanctioned. His urgency is inherited, not chosen.
I use the visual language of cinema to reference how these ideas are consumed: quickly, passively, and repeatedly. The piece operates as both a title and a warning—an acknowledgment of how easily momentum replaces intention.
