We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us.

I have posted photos of Vancouver House before - here's another angle.
The Met is currently featuring an examination of American fashion in a new exhibit, " In America: A Lexicon of Fashion." Some fashion statements, however, are clearly being made on the steps outside its entrance doors
So, you know, I took some sunflower shots (as previously posted) at this gas station (it has a strip of such). I'd get the gasoline filled up there and asked for the photography oppor. But, it was always windy for twice I tried. I felt when it comes to yellow flower shooting, its color tends to lighten up somewhat. Someone told me to use Polarizing Filters to correct it. Well, I'm not that serious about photography (to be perfect, I meant), not to mention to equip with many gears. I don't use photoshop, using the iPhoto comes with my computer to edit somewhat, that's all. This macro lens is heavy enough for me to carry around. One lens at a time for me. Wouldn't change lenses while shooting either. Ah, just because some Flick friend asked me if I had a tripod to shoot a macro shot in the previous post that brought me to this statement.
While at the Flea Market last fall, this vendor was selling dozens of bald headed mannequins and couldn't help taking a photo of this bizarre sight. I came across it the other day on my computer and thought it would make an interesting social statement.

The Jimmy Choo of the 1880s?
It seems that shoes have been fashion statements for hundreds of years. This miniature lace-trimmed shoe reproduces a high fashion footwear design of late Victorian Britain. I love its elegant shape and eye for detail. Definitely a desirable fashion statement of its time!

Radio Kootwijk, designed in 1920 by Julius Luthmann as a radio transmitter to communicate with the Dutch colonies.
The statement being: "I'm too rich to drive a Morris Minor, and too poor to buy a Jaguar." I knew a fellow who bought one of these, only to discover none of his extensive collection of hand tools fit. Not metric, not 'Murican. He learned a new word that day. Whitworth.
