Abused, Abandoned Jungle Dogs.
Back Story .........................................
Yesterday Boney Boy went on a trial run around
town, he did real good riding in the sidecar.
Two times I went into stores where it was easy
to keep an eye on him while in the store.
When leaving our village yesterday there was
about two hundred people marching down a
narrow road chanting and lighting firecrackers.
At one point they parted and we went right through
the middle of them, Boney Boy again did real good.
Today he was excited when he was placed into the
sidecar once again. He knew we were going on
another big adventure. .. ;-)
This time we went all the way to the far end of town.
As you can see here we are at the feed store stocking
up on kibble and a few small items for all the dogs out
at the monkey temple. Tomorrow morning I'll be leaving
early with everything packed on the new scooter ...........
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Boney Boy he
was found at The Dog Palace near death on the same
day Mama had her litter of puppies under The Dog Palace.
We took him straight to the dog doctor where he was check
over very closely. Doctor said he would have been dead
within 24 hours, he was in bad shape. He has lived at our
place ever sense. And yes, he too has been neutered .........
FYI:
The dogs barked nonstop into the early hours of the morning.
This is not like them to do this so we knew something was up.
Word has been put out by the local government that last night
wild elephants had come down from the mountains and entered
the northern edge of our village. Everyone has been warned to
be vigilant, stay home and if the pachyderms are spotted to stay
far far away from them. They kill about one person a month in
our province !
And, don't plan on seeing any of them on my flickr site unless
it's done with a Real Long Lens at great distance.
I maybe crazy, but I'm not completely stupid ..;-)~~~

SET 3 – Cordova Spirit Halloween (former Gordmans)
Back outside again, here’s a view from the parking lot of the converted storefront, wearing its temporary Spirit garb on this rather drab late September day. Aside from a faint Gordmans labelscar, we can also see the empty display walls inside both of those picture windows; no surprise Spirit decided not to do anything with those (frankly, I don’t know how much Gordmans even did with them, haha!). Also, I neglected to mention this in the previous description, but if you take a close look at that image you’ll see that Spirit actually papered over the interior walls of the vestibule, so sadly the old “g” emblem and mission statement board, while likely still present, were hidden away from view.

"Cultural Interruption" speaks about the U.S. government's assimilation policies and efforts to systematically remove Mvskoke culture from our people. I am a product of these systematic disruptions. The piece/installation reflects three transparent panels with three generations of my family on them. The first panel, (farthest back) has images of my Mvskoke grandparents, who spoke Mvskoke language exclusively. The image os my Grandparents is solid and strong indicating the depth of their knowledge of Mvskoke language and culture.
The second panel (center panel) has images of my mother, Mildred Phillips Ketcheshawno, who, as a young child, spoke only Mvskoke language. At the age of five, my mom was forcibly removed from her family by the federal government and placed in boarding school, where she was forbidden to speak her Native language. Consequently, over time, she completely forgot the Mvskoke language and tried to relearn the language as an adult (after taking Mvskoke language lessons). Ideally, she should have been able to teach me the language from birth, but the boarding school (and urban "Relocation" program--both US Federal Programs designed to acculturate Native American peoples) experience interrupted that organic/natural teaching and learning process.

Whether you agree or not, the owners of this property were making a statement about their beliefs on abortion. It wasn't a pretty scene - there was almost no color, a fine powdery snow in the air made it look hazy, and the remains of the adjacent house were a charred ruin from a recent fire. That being said, sometimes art and opinion go hand in hand.
Statement: When I saw Stanely Twardowics' photograph of gondolas, I was captivated by the crystal clear reflection seen in the water. I've always been intrigued by reflections, when I was younger I used to think there was something on the other side trying to pass through the world but couldn't because its equal counterpart would block it from entering. It is this childhood theory that has helped me come to think of an idea for my project. This man in the Guardian of one realm and trying to keep the mirror realm at bay.
"In 1890, the first steam-powered space ship got a lot of attention around the globe. The maiden flight was planned to go to Mars. However, the astronomically high ticket prices and the statement, that there was "not much to see on Mars" never created sufficient demand to cover the cost."
