The first capitol building of Utah was built in Filmore, but it was only used for that purpose for one year. Later the Salt Lake City Council Hall served as meeting place for the legislature. The statehood was granted to Utah in 1896.
The Salt Lake City and County Building served as the capitol building until 1916, the year when the present building was finished.
The Capitol, which is 404 feet (123 m) long, 240 feet (73 m) wide was built between 1912 and 1916. The granite of the building and the copper of the dome are both from Utah. An extensive and expansive reconstruction took place between 2004 and 2008.
In the movie Legally Blonde 2 Utah State Capitol was used for exterior and interior shots of the U.S. Capitol.

Alfred A. Loeb State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of Oregon, administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. Located on the banks of the Chetco River east of Brookings, the park offers camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, and rafting opportunities. In the park’s boundaries are 3 rental cabins, 53 camping sites, a launch area for drift boats, a day-use area, and the head of a 0.75-mile (1.2 km) trail that the official Web site says leads to the northernmost redwood grove in the United States. A vintage solid state black and white portable TV. The most engaging pat was probably being able to turn it on and off and see the delight that it gave people, especially those not old enough to remember tube TVs.
