Harris Beach State Park is an Oregon State Park located on US Highway 101, north of Brookings. The day-use area offers a restroom and picnic area with tables, and the campground has RV sites, yurts and tent sites available year-round. It is named after the Scottish pioneer George Harris who settled here in the late 1880s to raise sheep and cattle. Harris Beach State Park is home to Bird Island (also known as Goat Island), which is reported to be the largest island off the Oregon Coast and is a National Wildlife Refuge. Was trying to get this woodpecker while in flight, but was not fast enough, maybe one day! Was at a state park, in the ornithology area, they are teaching people about the birds and nature, we need to support the effort everywhere!

“I remember being in the car and getting butterflies when I saw the fairgrounds exit.” First started to really talk to Tom in their early 20s, they had started to date long distance while she was in nursing school in AZ. When Tom had his accident they began to speak more and more. She came up to help take care of him after one of his surgeries to rebuild his ears. She stayed at his families house for a week after the surgery to take care of him. That was a defining moment in their relationship. After she graduated she moved to Syracuse. Her and Tom bought his parents farm, the same house she had stayed to take care of him. They still live there to this day.
“All the goats have their own personalities, some I hate and some I love. I can just look at them and tell if something is wrong.”
“Favorite thing at the fair is walking around, people watching, there is always something new to see.”
“The worst part of the fair is leaving, and saying good-buy to the whole goat barn family until next year.

BASTROP, Texas – Despite earlier optimism, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department firefighters and other personnel were still facing a fire threat to historic structures at Bastrop State Park today.
According to TPWD incident commander Robert Crossman, all but about 100 acres of the 6,000-acre park have been blackened by fire, but firefighters have so far been able to save most of the Civilian Conservation Corps-constructed structures on the park, with two possible exceptions – two CCC observation structures believed to have been damaged. A kid powered handcar, an excellent way to burn off all that youthful energy. The structure in the background is a Central of Georgia storehouse, one of the railroad's standardized designs, at one time these structures were located all across the system.
The Georgia State Railroad Museum is the largest, oldest existing nineteenth-century railroad shop complex in the United States. A National Historic Landmark site, construction began in 1850, although the outer ring of the roundhouse dates from 1926. The shops were closed after the Southern Railway took control of the Central of Georgia in 1962.
Lets play peek-a-boo for a second. This view is the produce wall in the old Albertsons blue-gray store. In Stater Bros.' remodeling, the department signage and the wall it was attached to came down, exposing this earlier (looks like 70s) paint scheme. Custer State Park is a South Dakota State Park and wildlife reserve in the Black Hills, United States. The park is South Dakota's largest and first state park, named after Lt. Colonel George Armstrong Custer. The park covers an area of over 71,000 acres (287 km2) of varied terrain including rolling prairie grasslands and rugged mountains.
The park is home to a herd of 1,500 bison. Elk, coyotes, mule deer, white tailed deer, mountain goats, prairie dogs, bighorn sheep, river otters, pronghorn, cougars, and feral burros also inhabit the park. The park is known for its scenery, its scenic drives (Needles Highway and the wildlife loop), with views of the bison herd and prairie dog towns. This park is easily accessible by road from Rapid City. Other nearby attractions are Wind Cave National Park, Mount Rushmore, Jewel Cave National Monument, Crazy Horse Memorial, and Badlands National Park.

Feeding and disturbing park wildlife is against park regulations. While the animals within the park are used to visitors and vehicles, they are still wild animals. Please remain in your vehicle or stay at least 100 yards from bison, elk, and other animals.
Pets must be on a leash no longer than 10 feet and are not allowed in any park buildings or on designated swim beaches. Please clean up after your pet and do not leave it unattended. Service animals are welcome.
Firearms must be unloaded and cased unless during a hunting season with the proper license. Concealed carry is allowed with the appropriate permit.
