We Want to Go Back! But #OnlyWhenItsSafe!
Teachers protested at a socially distant standout to call on Governor Baker to take action in support of safe and healthy public schools and colleges. Supporters urged Governor Baker to:
1. Establish a uniform requirement for all districts to start the year with a comprehensive distance learning plan. Provide immediate support for access to the internet where it is lacking.
2. Set clear health and safety standards that must be met for the gradual return of in-person learning, including:
•Indoor air quality and ventilation in school buildings that meet appropriate regulatory and industry standards.
•Rapid COVID-19 testing that is accessible, routine, and free to students and staff.
•Community and public health benchmarks are established, met, and reported transparently.
Maple trees are always spectacular in autumn. This one is putting on quite a show in my side garden.

When I wander the city I am always looking for that not so average person. I was in china town this past weekend for the new years party they were having. So many people to shoot. It was bright and sunny so I found a spot on the street where people were walking towards me in the sun because the light was pretty tough to shoot in either to dark or blown out skies. Once I found my spot out of the crowd walks this character. The first thing I noticed was the perfect black hair then as he got a little closer the nose ring that's when I lifted the camera and got this shot. He looked right at me and just walked on bye like nothing happened. What a long and chilly day but I think I got a few good shots.
Oak leaves are so drab after they've fallen; the solitary maple leave preserves some color and stands out against the brown.
Word is that it was really one of the best in the last three years — it looked great — people seem to have had such a wonderful time and chef participants gave us positive feedback… Thank you, thank you, thank you for joining us and sharing YOUR strength.

In this image three clearly similar apples are intersected by a starkly different apple. The red apple is maintained in memory as the interesting point of the work, while the 3 green apples are mostly ignored or forgotten.
What does it feel like to me one among many? To stand out from the crowd? To be different, yet the same? In some situations it can be wonderful, a statement of unique talent and achievement. In others it can be misery, a despised and oppressed outsider.

Even though the white egrets tend to stand out from the background all on their own, the fall colours certainly accentuate the difference.
