From a 1947 'export drive' publication entitled "Made in Britain" comes this fine advert for stage equipment manufactured by the Brixton based company of Hall Manufacturing and Supply Co Ltd. It certainly gives a great idea as to the complexity of a stage with the various sets and lighting rigs.
The company originates from Birmingham, being formed in 1898, making and dealing in ironmongery, ropes and pulleys before becoming more associated with stage work as a speciality. They are still in business.
Maika Makovski performing live in Barcelona during the Festes de La Mercè. Bathed in warm amber light and surrounded by darkness, the stage becomes an intimate and atmospheric scene.
I did a Sweet Sticky and Candy shoot last week.
A lot of color, dolls, girls, sweet and sticky.
I think I did a great job :)

The French horn (since the 1930s known simply as the horn in professional music circles) is a brass instrument made of tubing wrapped into a coil with a flared bell. The double horn in F/Bâ™ (technically a variety of German horn) is the horn most often used by players in professional orchestras and bands. A musician who plays a horn is known as a horn player or hornist.
This photomontage portrays a weary marionette whose existence has been defined by performance and spectacle. Slumped upon a Victorian chaise lounge, the puppet’s worn body and theatrical costume suggest both faded grandeur and emotional exhaustion. The illuminated dressing-room mirror recalls the ritual of preparing for the stage, while the ghostly Victorian audience lingering in the background represents memories of admiration that are slowly disappearing into darkness. Suspended between performance and abandonment, the marionette becomes a symbol of aging, obsolescence, and the loneliness that remains after applause has faded.
