Two performers stand small against a dense field of stars and the bright band of the Milky Way, with a crowd dark below. The stage glow and the sky share the frame, so the scene reads as a concert under the night sky. Taken in Paradise, Nevada.

A While ago, I had been thinking of shooting with back lights, like on stage, but they appear in the frame.

So recently, I got a contract from a new artist, Kathi G as she was preparing to release her single with Okyeame Kwame.

So I Though, "what better way to put this Back light idea to full drive after a few practices?" And voalaa!!! this is what the shoot yielded. There are more images but i am only releasing those that the artist herself has released out as well.

I know u may be interested in the strobe info, so here it is;

The 2 lights at the back are both YN465s, gelled blue and hand held by my 2 assistants behind the subject, shot bare. One light was closer than the other, adding more depth to the image.

To Camera right is my trusted 70' reflective umbrella with an SB900 and a YN467II. To the left of it is a silver reflector.

I Hope you found this informative.

Fell free to ask me any questions please.

A band plays on a stage cut through with magenta and violet light beams, while a dense crowd stands silhouetted in the haze below. The smoke-filled air softens the beams into soft color bands across the frame.
