Last week whilst out walking Kevin suddenly became aware of his ankle giving way for no real reason. He was advised to rest it for a week but yesterday he was really having trouble just walking around the house. I managed to get a short notice cancellation appointment with a physio (easier than getting an appointment with a GP!). The physio provided him with a good brace support and a walking stick so at least he's more stable.
Apart from one day last week the really strange thing is that he has no pain, there's no bruising and no swelling. She suspects it might be a ligament tear and yet Kevin hasn't fallen or twisted his ankle recently. It got her very confused so she recommends seeing an ankle specialist and obtaining an MRI scan. In the meantime it's rest with a few ankle exercises until we know what we are dealing with.
It's great that it's a lovely week of warm weather so Kevin can relax in the garden but I know frustration will soon set in.

La’Tonya White, Northern Virginia Community College Director of Financial Stability & Advocacy, explains the layout of the student food pantry during a tour of the Northern Virginia Community College food pantry, Alexandria, on Thursday, November 7, 2024. The campus visit was held in association with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service and the U.S. Department of Education’s office of Federal Student Aid signing of a joint agreement to strengthen college student access to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP.
This agreement aims to increase awareness of SNAP among college students, as new data shows millions of eligible students are falling through the cracks. A recent Government Accountability Office report revealed 67% of the 3.3 million college students potentially eligible for SNAP reported not receiving benefits. (USDA Photo by Paul Sale)

And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on

Residents from across Massachusetts gathered front of the State House to demand the state government enact legislation to protect against a wave of evictions and foreclosures related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Governor Baker’s temporary extension of the Massachusetts eviction and foreclosure moratorium, a wave of tens of thousands of evictions is now expected when the measure expires in the fall during what could be a second wave of the COVID-19 epidemic.
The legislative session is expected to end July 31 and over 200 community, labor, and religious organizations have signed a letter to House Speaker Robert DeLeo, Senate President Karen Spilka, and Governor Charlie Baker urging them to pass An Act to Guarantee Housing Stability during the COVID-19 Emergency & Recovery immediately.
