Joint ECB EU Commission conference on Financial integration and stability in a new financial architecture
When you need a pair of 56kΩ resistors, but all you have in the junkbox are high-stability, 2% carbon-composition types from the early 1960s. Which have been desoldered and have short, fat leads. Had to solder on some LED clippings to make them fit the solderless breadboard.
The circuit is a twin-T oscillator that doesn't quite have enough gain to keep oscillating.
#19: Now it is time to feed the cord into the upper legs. Make sure you have the correct upper legs and lower legs lined up. The slots should be facing the back of the doll this time, since the knees bend backward. You want the rounded cup on the knee cap to be facing forward. This is the trickiest part of the process since the holes are so small. I like to use a folded piece of thin wire to help. Fold it in half, so there is a loop on one end. Shove the loop into the base of the upper leg (where the knee cap is). Feed it through, and use tweezers to pull it out the top hole (which is where the leg sits next to the hip). Use the loop of wire to grab the cord, wrapping it around the cord a few times so it is snuggly attached.
#20: Pull on the wire, which will drag the cord through the hole. Now the cord will be sticking out the bottom of the upper leg. You can remove the wire after this step. Repeat for both legs.
#21: Slide a funnel shaped cup onto the cord, with the wide end facing up to the knee cap. Follow this with a bent washer onto the cord, butting its flat side against the narrow base of the funnel cup. You will need to hold tension on the cord, before clamping down the washer with a crimping tool or pliers. The amount of tension you hold determines how tightly the limb is strung. Repeat for both legs.
#22: Once you have attached the upper legs, soak the lower legs in boiling water until they are squishy. Shove the cups into each lower leg until they are completely inside the holes. Use pliers to ensure the cups are fully pushed down. Now the legs should be fully attached.
#23: Take the neck cup, and loop a piece of cord through the base, so two tails come out the top of it. There is a little plastic bar inside this neck cup, which should hold the cord in place. However, it might have broken during removal (which happened to me). If this is the case, slide a zip tie through the loop at the base of the cup. Then close the zip tie, so the head of it acts as a stopper, preventing the cord from sliding out the cup.
#24: Soak the torso in hot water until the neck is squishy. Push the neck cup down inside, with the narrow end facing down. The two long tails of cord will be sticking out the neck hole. Make sure the neck cup is all the way inside the body, and not sitting in the rim of the neck (otherwise it will pop out when you go to reattach the head).
#25: Slide the two cord tails that are sticking out the top of the neck through the two corresponding holes on the head cup. You will want the rounded side facing upwards (this will sit inside the head).
#26: Using as much tension as possible, knot the cord at the top of the neck. The amount of tension you use determines how tight the head is going to be. I recommend triple knotting this cord, to ensure that it doesn't come undone. Trim any excess cord off, leaving 1 inch tails.
#27: Soak the base of the doll's head in boiling water until it is squishy. Then pop it onto the neck, ensuring that the rounded cup is inside the doll's head. I recommend reattaching the head last so that it doesn't get in your way when reassembling the other body parts. Also make sure the torso has cooled all the way before attempting to reattach the head. A squishy neck makes reattachment much more difficult.
Voila! Now your Hopscotch Hill School doll should be tight and able to pose and free stand!
***IMPORTANT NOTES:***
*Using washers is totally optional. You can also simply knot the end of the cord if you choose. Just make sure the knots are secure so that they do not come undone inside the doll.
*You can also buy brass inserts/metal crimpers, which is what American Girl used to use back in the day. Personally, I tried them out and I found them to be pricey and hard to work with.
*Depending on how tightly you pull the cord before knotting it or clamping it down a washer will determine how tightly your doll is strung. Make sure the cord is pulled tight enough because too much slack will make the doll loose, which defeats the purpose of fixing her. You can use hemostats/locking pliers to help you hold the tension on the cord before clamping it down. I personally don't need to do this, but some people find it helpful. A good way to know if you have the proper tension is to see if the arms/legs can hold a pose.
*You can use any sort of elastic cord--it doesn't have to be bungee cord. Just keep in mind that it should be strong, since the dolls limbs constantly move and have tension. I used marine grade bungee cord for my doll, since it is very strong and resistant to damage. I had to correct a few mistakes during the restringing process, but the cord held up just fine. If you use cheaper cord, it might wear out if you have trouble restringing the doll.
*The holes in Hopscotch Hill School dolls are super narrow, so keep this in mind when picking out cord for them. I used 4mm cord, which fit. Any larger sized cord probably won't be able to slide through the holes.
*Due to the tiny hole size in the limbs of the dolls, it can make sliding cord through them difficult. I mentioned in the steps above how I utilized wire to help me weave the cord through the limbs. This saved me so much time, rather than trying to force the cord through the limbs on their own.
*The bungee cord will fray on the ends a bit. This is totally fine and will not affect the stability of the strung limbs. If it bothers you, use glue or melt the ends to prevent fraying.
*Technically you can reattach the limbs in any order you want. You can start with the neck joint, the legs, or the arms. The only thing I recommend is putting the head itself on last, so it doesn't get in your way when soaking the other parts of the body. It will also ensure your doll's hair stays neater.
*I cannot stress this enough...you need BOILING water to do this. Do not heat the water in the microwave, as it won't be hot enough. Use an electric kettle or boil water on the stove, transferring it to a large bowl. I find that the more water you heat up, the less quickly it cools off. This gives you more time to work with the doll before she cools off and the plastic parts harden again. If the water is not boiling, the limbs won't get squishy enough for you to easily maneuver her cups in and out. I made this mistake in the past. Once I started using boiling water, it made my life much easier, and the doll's parts are less likely to get damaged.
*I recommend having a 1mm tip pair of needle nose pliers for this process. It's easier to fit them inside the holes of the dolls limbs for removing the cups. It can be harder to work with larger pliers.
*I made the mistake of lining up the wrong upper arms and upper legs during my first attempt of restringing my doll. The arms should have the slots facing forward, so the elbows bend forward. If you cannot easily pop the arms back into the sockets of the torso, then you have swapped the placement of the upper arms. The legs on the other hand should have the slots facing backwards, since the knees bend this way. If it helps, take picture of your doll before taking her apart, or use pieces of tape that are labeled to put on each limb (so you know which one corresponds with which).

My Workflow:
- Generate hundreds of 10-20 step "rough draft" images in Google Colab
- Grab the seeds of the good-ish ones
- Rerun in Google Colab with 50-100 steps using the seeds
- Send the good images to Gigapixel AI, export with Standard Mode settings
- Finally, send them through Sharpen AI, often with "Too soft - Normal" and 30-70 added grain. This step isn't that crucial, but it does help a tiny bit.
- Post to flikr with JS scripts to automate this description :)
- Probably about 1%-5% of AI generations get posted to Flickr. It depends a lot on the prompt, different prompts run into different issues. Bust portraits tend to be more successful since hands, arms, and legs almost always come out wrong.

St John's chapel at the north east corner of Pershore Abbey. The chapel is suffering from a fissure that has opened through the east wall, window and vaulting, initially moving at a dramatic rate in 2005. After a period of stability, the fissure reopened in August 2011, moving apart yet further with worrying speed; currently the vaulted ceiling is threatened with collapse.
www.pershoreabbey.org.uk/whyscaffolding.html
Pershore Abbey is today a magnificent fragment, consisting of roughly half of the original medieval church. The monastery itself has long gone, the only traces being the scars on the wall of the south transept that show where the east range of buildings, perhaps including the monks' dormitory and refectory, were once attached to the church.
The Abbey dates back to Saxon times, having been founded by King Edgar in the 10th century, but the eatliest visible remains today are 12th century Norman, principally the south transept. What little evidence remains of the nave shows that this too was Romanesque, contemporary with the transept. The bulk of the building as it stands today dates from the 13th and 14th centuries, as witnessed by the splendid gothic choir (complete with rich vaulted ceiling and bosses, also added to the transept) with it's aisles and chapels. The imposing tower is the latest addition from the 1340s, and in it's topmost storey following a remarkably similar design to that of Salisbury Cathedral, suggesting involvement of the same architect/master mason.
The church today has a strangely L-shaped footprint owing to it's reduction in size as a result of the Dissolution of 1539, when the townspeople bought the eastern half of the church for parish use (instead of the smaller St Andrew's church immediately to the east). The nave was quarried away for it's stone, as were the monastic buildings (the cloister stood to the south of the nave) and have almost entirely vanished. The Lady chapel at the east end was also demolished at this time, the present apsidal chapel dates from the Victorian restoration. There were further reductions still to come, with the collapse of the north transept in 1686, of which only a tiny portion was rebuilt, giving the western part the curiously lopsided appearance it has to this day, with two of the former arches of the crossing now blocked up with recycled masonry.
The interior is impressive, both for it's Gothic and norman work. The higher ceilings have some excellent carved bosses, mainly foliage with the occasional face, rather difficult to make out from ground level. The original furnishings have not survived with the exception of the Norman font, carved with figures surrounded by strapwork, somewhat worn as a result of being exiled to a garden in the 18th century and later recovered.
There are a few monuments of note, mainly gathered in the south transept where two medieval effigies lie, one a fine 13th century cross legged knight (reputedly a crusader), not in situ and apparently brought in from the churchyard (presumably he lay in the now lost nave). A 14th century priest, somewhat worn, lies nearby along with a large, coloured late Elizabethan monument to the Haselwood family.
The Abbey was restored in the 1850s by George Gilbert Scott, during which time stained glass was reintroduced into the building (all trace of the medieval glass has gone), mostly by Clayton & Bell and Hardmans, the former of which also added some wall painting at the west end, that is now so deteriorated some must mistake it for medieval work. But the most notable feature of the Victorian period is the unique (and somewhat terrifying) bell-ringers platform suspended high in the centre of the tower by a cross of huge oak beams, in order to open up a view of it's interior. The bell ringers of Pershore must seriously need to conquer any fear of heights!
There have been ongoing structural problems with the foundations (presumably groundwater) on the north side of the building, first manifested in the collapse of the north transept, and more recently in the alarming fissures that have rapidly opened up in the north east chapel during the last six years. Currently the situation is growing ever more acute, and fate of this small corner of the building hangs in the balance.

Georgia is the regional leader in terms of investment attractiveness and stability. Georgia has created one of the best investment environments with effective state services, a corruption-free state, and a free, fair, and open business environment, as evidenced by various ratings by international organizations, and our positions continue to improve. Making a case for investing in Georgia becomes increasingly easy for several reasons. First, investing in Georgia requires little legal hassle and normative adjustment. Georgia's Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area Agreement with the EU, signed in 2014, is of particular importance to us, as it envisions the gradual economic integration of Georgia with the EU's internal market. DCFTA has already brought about tangible results-Georgia's export into the EU has increased by 15% in 2016, while the export of some products, such as hazelnuts, copper, or mineral oils, has even doubled and tripled. This year, Georgia is starting to export to the EU a new product, honey, which is expected to become the leading product from Georgia, along with wine, hazelnuts, and blueberries. Secondly, Georgia, together with Azerbaijan, is a window to a number of markets, including the economies of Central Asia and the Far East. In this respect, we provide physical access through modern transport infrastructure and normative access in terms of free trade agreements. Specifically, we have already finalized negotiations and Georgia will be the first country in the region to have a Free Trade Agreement with China. We also have in place FTA agreements with the CIS countries, Turkey, and GSP regimes with the United States, Canada and Japan and plan to launch negotiations with India this year. Thanks to a liberal trade regime, low taxes, and our strategic location, Georgia has become a new regional frontier for investment opportunities. Thirdly, Georgia offers one of the best business environments in the world, which improves year on year. The Government of Georgia is currently implementing a 4-Point Reform Plan in four key sectors: 1) Bettering the country's business environment (tax legislation, tax administration reform, and promotion of entrepreneurship),
2) Measures seeking to increase governance transparency and inclusiveness,
3) Development of the country's infrastructure (highways and railroads, existing and new ports, transport and logistics hubs-Georgia, together with Azerbaijan and Turkey, is developing the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad, which will launch its operations this year), and
4) higher education reform. Under the reforms above, the startup support program is one of the key initiatives. In July 2016, Startup Georgia, a venture financing program, was announced. The project is implemented by Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency and the Partnership Fund. Over 720 applications with innovative business ideas have been submitted under the program. As part of the project's hi-tech component, the Government, together with experts from the Silicon Valley, US, reviewed and shortlisted the 20 most effective and far-reaching startups. When it comes to a pro-business regulatory framework, Georgia has a world class outlook as a business destination. Georgia ranks 16 in the world - out of 190 countries, according to the World Bank's 2017 Ease of Doing Business index, thus improving its positions by 7 points compared to 23rd place in 2015. On the 2017 Index of Economic Freedom, Georgia placed 13th in the world, and 5th in Europe. Georgia today makes a case for investment in heavy and light manufacturing, as well as services. With high-speed trains, new road systems, and the future port near Anaklia, the only deep-sea port on the Eastern side of the Black Sea which sits on the shortest route from China to Europe that will operate year-round-we will not merely provide access to markets, but will create markets.
One major recent achievement, which will come into force tomorrow, is visa waiver for Georgia's citizens recently approved by the EU. We hope that it will help simplify people-to-people contacts and enhance business opportunities between Georgia and the EU. We certainly hope that similar opportunities will open up soon for our friends, Ukraine's citizens. We are convinced that deeper trade, economic, and transport cooperation within GUAM will have a positive impact on the further development of and reforms in our economies, ultimately to bring tangible results to our entrepreneurs and societies as a whole.
In this context, we welcome the signing of two documents, one on improving the functioning of the GUAM Free Trade Area and the other on enhancing the competitiveness of the GUAM Transport Corridor.
In closing, I would like to invite you all to visit Georgia and experience first-hand all that it has to offer.
Please accept my sincere wishes for success!

After years of political stability and economic progress, Turkey is sliding backwards in reforms and in abiding to democratic principles and the rule of law.
A serious clampdown on media and individual freedoms has started and is likely to continue beyond the general elections in June 2015.
Journalists have been arrested and the authorities are cutting back the freedom of expression and media in Turkey.
As a reaction, a recent resolution by the European Parliament reminded Turkey that a free and pluralistic press is an essential component of any democracy.
Guy Verhofstadt, President of ALDE, and Rebecca Harms, President of Greens/EFA, have invited a number of key Turkish journalists from the major media corporations to address the issue of media freedom in Turkey and the role that the EU could play in that field.

In order to eliminate back pain that already bothers you or to stay away from injuries that may occur from day to day activities, it is important to keep the core strong and flexible. There is a number of exercises doctors and personal trainers advise you to do, but how about that time of the day when you are not able to attend a gym or hit the floor for some "ME" time?
There is a solution - SpinaliS chairs for active sitting. As a matter of fact that is the BEST SOLUTION because you don't have to do anything, but sit. At the first glance the SpinaliS chair looks like a well designed regular office chair, but there is a difference - a spring under its seat, which forces your body to keep itself in the balance thus working out your core muscles that in return will help you to get rid of the back pain and will improve your posture.
Check out SpinaliS Apollo Series chairs, which is an ideal choice for women or men with a smaller body type:
www.spinalis-chairs.ca/spinalis-chairs/apollo/
What the Core Does?
The area of the body, which is commonly referred to as the core, is your midsection and it involves all your muscles in that area including the front, back and sides. The core includes the traverse abdominis (TVA), erector spinae, obliques and your lower lats.
These muscles work as stabilizers for the entire body. Core training is simply doing specific exercises to develop and strengthen these stabilizer muscles.
If any of these core muscles are weakened, it could result in lower back pain or a protruding waistlines. Keeping these core muscles strong can do wonders for your posture and help give you more strength in other exercises like running, walking or sitting on a SpinaliS chair.
