Spring spring around...

The first tender green

A mixed posy of spring flowers, as I only seemed to take one worthwhile photo of each of them. This is the first of what is going to be a mass of blooms on my Camellia, as it's covered in buds.

There's a brief period in spring when the trees take on a fall-like quality with the emergence of their new foliage, especially in the low angle light of sunrise or sunset. Photographed in Goose Island Park, La Crosse County, Wisconsin.

Each year I see these I try to figure out a way to capture the beauty of them. I am not convinced that his is the image I am trying to produce and don't feel like I am doing it justice. I felt the same about the images I took this spring.

We were exploring a little village whose name I forget now when we saw this gushing water and a long low building, really no more than a roof built on the ground. We were puzzled as to what this could be and Anita wondered if the water was cold. It was.

A bit later the owner of the little "Mom and Pop" store told us it was a spring and that people came from all over to get water from it. I was happy to learn it Was a spring and not... you know something to do with sewage~ LOL

I enjoyed rolling around on the ground in the nearby woods earlier this week, photographing the beautiful lesser celandine punching through the leaf litter. I love the pose of this one, stretching up to catch the light filtering through the trees.

Although much of the country is in the grip of winter weather, and the Bay Area today has cold rain, these daffodils give promise of a warm spring to come! Seen yesterday in my neighborhood.

Happy First Day of Spring!

More Snowdrops (Galanthus), of which I think there are at least 50 varieties. These are all from the riverside walk near my home.

An abstraction to capture and convey the essence of spring (non AI).

I have three bushes of varying heights of this tiny pink rose - left to itself, it happily climbs to over ten feet. The buds are perfect miniatures and even when fully out the flowers are only about an inch and a half across. What you can't tell from photographs is that they also have a wonderful scent.

when there is white cold winter outside, i go to my archives for green spring shots and re-edit some pictures....the texture from Boccacino.

explored - thank you!

This red-eyed vireo is excited to see spring is nearly here in North America.

Wet snow painted spring landscape in white early this morning. The temperature was around 1-2 above zero and this visit of winter to Bath was short-lived. Yet it was first substantial snowfall this winter over here. The cherry flowers under snow might be cherry plum flowers which bloom much earlier in spring than other cherry trees. We have had some amazing weather these past few days. Temperatures reached 28C (82F) on this particular day. Not to shabby for April.

Spring is here, just outside my door!
