A small tree begins to bloom at the edge of the parking lot where my wife and I park our vehicles.

Just to say, 'Happy Springtime' folks and to mark the end of the American Football section.

Makes me SOOOO happy when dragonfly season begins every year. :-)

Had a mated pair of Common Green Darners on April 2. Will post soon.

A storm blew through leaving a trail of devastation across the state of Iowa. We were fortunate with only rain and high winds. My Irises took a beating, lost some, trampled down a few that I cut and brought inside, closed up a few but opened a few more! I find beauty in all the stages that a flower takes from bud, to flower, back to bud, to dying. Behold life and death in a cycle thru Mother Nature. Our first post-lockdown excursion, and our first restaurant meal since 31 October 2020. We lunched by the sea, at Markopoulos, near Oropos, about an hour away from our home in Athens.

A dreamy morning filled with fresh cherry blossoms.

__

This was taken at the University of Washington campus. Every year, the cherry blossoms bloom beautifully for about a month.

It's funny because the last few years, I've been "too busy" to go outside and take photos at my own school! Sad excuses. I finally had time this year, so I went during spring break. I actually went back several times, trying to scout out the best locations. I woke up around 5:30AM for this shot, hoping to catch the sunrise. Unfortunately, it was dreary and rainy when I got to the campus. No sunrise for me ... Luckily, the sun decided to peek out for a few minutes later that morning, adding a momentary warmth and softness to the otherwise lackluster morning. I managed to squeeze in some shots before the sun left for good. The cherry blossoms fitted in perfectly with the temporary tranquility that came with the sun.

The weeds in the front yard are blooming.

A couple of new bags for springtime.

There are still a few patches of snow on the ground and there is still ice on some of the ponds at higher elevations, but New England has decided to give me a look at some Spring flowers just before I leave. The Snowdrops are in bloom and the Crocus blossoms are starting to open.
