A rather warm day today, It felt like spring. It was 80 degrees and I saw a few alligators sunning themselves on logs, they are supposed to be hibernating. Crazy weather.
Taken from the Springtime balloon landing area, from the one vicinity where you can look right down the Valley out to the Ocean. It just so happens, that at this time of year, that view down the Valley is at the point on the horizon right where the sun is setting. At this time of year, that point is rapidly moving north each day.
Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers - my resume is updated and I am moving forward to find the niche God has prepared for me next.
I usually photograph spring in this yard every year but this year I think it is better than ever.
Did I mention that it is springtime here? Ahhhhh!
This image won't stand up to close scrutiny as it's a crop from a very much larger image. The bee was shot with my 300mm lens from a good distance away. I've been playing around with the focus tracking on this new camera and have come to the surprising conclusion that it's as good as the 1D Mark IV.

A Pink dogwood (Cornus Florida - 'Rubra') in bloom is a sure sign of Springtime in Atlanta. Of course, so is a horribly high pollen count!! A mixed blessing I guess.
Nikon D300s, Micro Nikkor 60mm 2.8D, SB-900 on camera as commander, SB-700 off camera just above and to the left of the flower.

Here's a shot I wish would have come out better. The Indian Paintbrush in the FG looks much too soft to me. I was moving a little too fast and kind of blew the shot.
But I wanted to post this anyway to show the salmon color of this particular Indian Paintbrush plant. Out of ALL the paintbrush I saw up there this was the ONLY one of this color. Very cool!!!
Well now that I know this maybe next time I'll bring it into focus.

April 09, 2020 - I have no idea what this plant is, but it's growing through a holly bush in the lawn on the property where my wife and I reside..

Bob took this photo with my 35mm Holga. We went to Russell's after the Cubs game, all windblown and delirious.
Another great part of springtime is the return of the American Robin and usually in large numbers. Here are some of the first to return to my area this year.
there's a little bit of springtime in the back of my mind remembers when there was a time when we danced and we laughed. spent some time drinking wine and some where in there is a little child without a thought, without a doubt that with every cloud, a silver line is worn. and everything is new and everything is clean and everything is free. and there were still so many things to see so many things so many things left to be one small drop in the middle of a big sea of high and mighty things your fascination grows larger than life your brand new appetite as though we'd invented it and we dance

I bought these orchids from Akatsuka in Mountain View Hawaii for my mom on mothers day. They look beatiful in Michigan.

One evening, during our Disneyland Paris Magical Moments Events Tour, we were treated to a very magical evening at Parc Disneyland that included "Springtime for Mickey" in Central Plaza, "Disney's Dine Under the African Stars" at Hakuna Matata Restaurant in Adventureland and a very special Magical Moments meet-and-greet on Main Street USA. It was such a magical evening that I actually wept afterward.
I first created this design as a bag for myself ages ago for a grocery bag. Then I switched to a more open design for the many other bags I use. My mom looked at my old, over-stretched and pilly original and asked if I could make her one with that pattern. She liked that it wasn’t so open, and thought that it would be perfect for shopping around New York City. I made one for her and one for my grandmother. This designed for a more springtime theme to it. I love the little flowers and matching edging!
I love this bag. I've used mine for three years now.
