Springtime in the Palouse

Cherry Tree on South Street. Photo by Elizabeth Klisiewicz

Crassula 'Springtime' forms pagoda-like stems with alternating fuzzy emerald-green pointed triangular leaves. Flowers appear in profusion and are pale pink with a deep pink center. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost to prevent scarring.

Everybody said that already and flower pictures are not my thing usually, but when I am surrounded by blossoming flowers sometimes I feel as if they were telling me again: "it's springtime!"

Our cherry tree usually blossoms in late March and April. This year it had flowers at the end of January!

In a slow flowing burn through the woods, finally spring is springing.

Springtime in Ohio. A scenic country home captured in the early morning light.

I usually don't take photos under the big sun... However the shadows of cherry blossoms here were so attractive that I took out my camera and tried to catch the cherry blossoms along with shadows in springtime! :-)

Springtime on a walk in my training site.

One evening, during our Disneyland Paris Magical Moments Events Tour, we were treated to a very magical evening at Parc Disneyland that included "Springtime for Mickey" in Central Plaza, "Disney's Dine Under the African Stars" at Hakuna Matata Restaurant in Adventureland and a very special Magical Moments meet-and-greet on Main Street USA. It was such a magical evening that I actually wept afterward.

Springtime - Vivid colors set ablaze the sky. The fields, poppies and sunflowers bloom, trees start to dress for summer while the hearts beat again.

Updated May 23: A storm blew through on Tuesday leaving a trail of devastation across the state of Iowa. We were fortunate with only rain and high winds. My Irises took a beating, lost some, trampled down a few that I cut and brought inside, closed up a few but opened a few more! I find beauty in all the stages that a flower takes from bud, to flower, back to bud, to dying. Behold life and death in a cycle thru Mother Nature. Springtime in the Ozarks.

It's Springtime, and the cactus are starting to bloom. The flower on this one is a bit unusual... and at the same time familiar.

Earlier this year when it was very, very cold we decided it'd be a good idea to go to Phoenix for Spring Break. Spring Break arrived this year with a warm front, nearly 15 degrees above normal for Albuquerque. This also meant 15 degrees above normal for Phoenix ... making for a hot trip but so what - we were ready!

Happy Springtime to our Flickr Friends in the Southern Hemisphere!

May there be many sunny days ahead for you all.

Our first post-lockdown excursion, and our first restaurant meal since 31 October 2020. We lunched by the sea, at Markopoulos, near Oropos, about an hour away from our home in Athens.
