Listen! O, listen!

Here come the hum the golden bees

Underneath full blossomed trees,

At once with glowing fruit and flowers crowned.

Aspen in Spring along Williams Creek Road (FS 640) outside Pagosa Springs, CO. When I lived in Colorado, it was such a joy to watch the leaves come out in springtime.

A pretty and minimalistic semi-abstract image to celebrate the onset of glorious Spring.

I guess I thought seagulls emerged full-grown from the trash dumps in Staten Island but apparently the Niagara gorge is huge nesting area

Yesterday I think was the first real day of spring this year here in Iceland. I went a small trip on my offroadbike, and usually we are not allowed to ride near this place, but I got there yesterday on a hardpacked snow, so there was no harm done. This old shack is in a place called Ólafsskarð (Ólafs-pass).

A young cow elk I found in Selway Meadows last Spring.

You know me...always behind :) have lots of images from early spring still not posted. This is from Easter !

Spring Crocus in the Bulb Garden at the Chicago Botanic Garden.

This morning, here are five observations from yesterday's walk in the park. I walked down the bank of the lake to get a better view of this tree. Luckily, a young man was there fishing. I thought he completed the scene.

I took these photos at TARGET (yes the dept store) in the GARDEN dept last Spring. Since then they have closed down all their nurseries..I hope they at least continue to sell items for outdoor living such as statues, water features, pots, outdoor furniture etc, etc...

I was able to rejuvenate a few hours after the busy few last weeks and after the baby shower.Just five miles down the road is this amazing plantation called "Middleton Place"the gardens were ablaze with colors and wildlife everywhere including baby alligators sunning at the banks of the lagoons. This place is highly recommended by ME!

A must see if you are ever this way."Magnolia Gardens" are next door and then Drayton Hall, all very profitable rice plantations at one time dating back to the 1700s.Located on the Ashley River .Maybe next time I can fly overhead to view this stunning location, a must see from the air or simply look it up online to view!

I was hoping for a little more sunset drama when I followed L516 out east of Cylon but still ended up with a lot of that "spring is here" feel. The muted sunset is reflecting off the flanks of the SD60s as they close in on Emerald. At just 26, mainly empty, cars L516 was wasting no time getting over the road and made for a sporting chase.

Volgens een Larense winkelier is de lente aangebroken

Springtime in the Cape Winelands as the green lushness exudes throughout the fields of grapes. This was one of the views from the famous Buitenverwachting estate as we had the most amazing lunch of local cuisine (and way to much red wine)

This beautiful farm on the east-facing slopes of the magnificent Constantiaberg and barely 12km from False Bay, originally formed part of the Constantia Estate, which was founded by Simon van der Stel, the first Governor of the new Dutch colony at the tip of Africa.

First sold as a 200 morgen sub-division to Cornelis Brink in 1773, Buitenverwachting changed hands all too often. And yet it flourished as a wine farm, due mainly to the 90 000 vines planted in 1825 by Ryk Arnoldus Cloete, brother of the famous Hendrik Cloete of Constantia.

From 1866, the fortunes of Buitenverwachting were inextricably linked to those of the Louw and Lategan families. One of the most colourful characters was Oom Danie Lategan, whose trademark was the freshly picked camelia he wore on his lapel every day. It was his daughter, Olivia Lategan, who was to forge the link between the Lategans and the Louws. Born at Buitenverwachting, she returned as mistress of the farm when she married George Louw.

Imbued with a sense of history, the Mueller family has retraced the roots of Buitenverwachting. The farm was lovingly restored to its former glory while extensive planting of the most selected of cultivars was initiated. The result was a maiden grape harvest of 100 tonnes - the first harvest the farm had seen in 30 years. An historic achievement that lived up to its name: Buitenverwachting - "Beyond Expectation".
