Verdancy in the forest

I found this scene in rural Frederick County, Maryland, roughly between the charming Maryland towns of Burkittsville and Brunswick, a small railroad town sited alongside the Potomac River.

With the aid and the signals from a few warmer than normal days in mid-March, and longer days as well, the landscape here has begun to transition from winter's browns and greys to springtime's subtle color changeover.

This tree is gloriously stunning this year. In fact, I think a few days under water must've restored everything because this is the most beautiful (and pollen/allergy heavy) springtime that I can remember in a long time.

...and a few springtime raindrops too!

Love and Flowers Bloom in the Springtime.

This trio of the classic design of vintage British telephone boxes is a popular subject for photographers on the historic Royal Mile. There are few of these old classic designs left, but the phone company has left some in historically sensitive area like this, Last night they were highlighted with the swirling snow which had been falling all through the day (welcome to springtime in Scotland!) so I snapped another quick shot of them on the way home.

Good morning everyone. Just a simple collage of some random photos taken this Spring while out & about. Starting in the upper row on the left is Woodland Phlox (Phlox divaricata) one of the first woodland flowers to bloom each Spring, followed by tree bark of a River Birch (Betula nigra) then a Six-Spotted Tiger Beetle (Cicindela sexguttata).

Second row from left to right is a Wild Indigo Duskywing (Erynnis baptisiae), my first of the year of a returning Chipping Sparrow (Spizella passerina) and last but not least, an American Bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana), which was quite large...a good 6 inches (15 cm) in length.

As for the above photos, I also posted them individually in the comment section and my stream for better viewing, and in the later you'll also find some text describing each.

As always, don't forget to click on "view previous comments" if you don't see the additional photos in the comment section. Even better, scroll to them by clicking on the arrow thingy to the right of the above pic. And if you want to view any picture in the comment section large all you have to do is click on it.

Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you have a truly great first week of May.

The Red Kites have started their springtime courtship with fabulous aerial displays.

I love it best when the pair tumble from the sky with their feet entwined then separate to pull out of the dive at the last minute.

Out on the Bikes yesterday in the sunshine and came across these Springtime Flowers along the Hedgerow.

This is another image from my visit to Kingsbury Water Park last weekend. It was a beautiful sunny, spring day with a light breeze.

These conditions were just right for the slightly rippled reflections found in this image of a clear blue sky reflecting onto the pond.

Thank you for looking and for any comments you may leave.
