Found this little guy/girl collecting necter on a Spring day. I love the way that even at 1/500th of a second shutter speed the wings are still blurred.

During the hottest summer ever recorded in the Austin area, the landscape was brown and dusty. Now, with cool weather and rain, everything has turned springtime green. In the next couple of weeks, we'll have the first frost, and then a winter of brown and grey. I just love changing seasons!

A quilt my sister commissioned for her friend's newborn baby boy :) The fabrics are from the Nature-ology collection by Studio E. She chose most of the fabrics and I think it came out very nicely! Especially loving the back.

It's been a hard winter for the squirrels, as well as for many of us. But today the sun is shining, the snow is melting, and it actually feels like spring outside. We have five squirrels that make their home here in our yard.
