Passing springtime dandelions, an Iowa Northern freight heads south through Rockford, Iowa, on May 21, 2014.
Until I started taking shots of the Irises that have been blooming earlier this year on the ranch, I didn't realize that Iris derives its name from the Greek word for rainbow, which is a reference to the many colors found throughout its numerous species. This group was blooming near our driveway.

Out on the Bikes yesterday in the sunshine and came across these Springtime Flowers along the Hedgerow.
British Columbia GE C40-8M 4609 leads CN train 337 on the old Illinois Central Iowa Division at Munger, IL. Sitting around with a couple flickr friends enjoying the Spring weather and a few beverages, joking about how the much delayed westbound probably has a BC lead locomotive. Seriously, we had no idea this unit was leading. When we heard the horn in the distance, we were all expecting a CSX leader. Fist pumps and high fives confirmed we enjoyed a pretty good day.

Ukraine's "Tunnel of Love", a private railroad in the country's west. The train delivers materials to a fibreboard factory and runs around three times a day; carving a perfect tunnel through the young forest which has grown up around the tracks.
yes, Springtime has come :-)
it's nice and warm, no more snow. Birds are loud and happy, singing, fluttering and building nests.
That one is probably prepearing for building or cleaning his old apartment. After a while he was trying to clean his beak and he did it :-)
I can find plenty of dirt from the old nests. First, they clean it than they add new soft fur of my Qanuk :-)
