As the snows are descending on the mainland United States, and the last leaves are falling from the trees, I already find myself longing for springtime, when everything is green and the waters run high in Yosemite Valley.

I took this photo over a year ago in the spring. Thought it was quite colourful and beautiful.

I hope everyone has a really great day tomorrow. :D

Testing the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5.6-6.3 Di VC USD G2 AO22 on the moon with an older Canon crop sensor...

standing alive old and grey never too late to say

sorrow and worry, your chains won't make me hurry

to an end

deserved

oh how absurd

to a life begun just now

dirt, mud

mixed with springtime's blood

brings a slow and glorious color

so hurry instead to a life begun

and leave death behind

you deserve hope and the promise this brings.

The lilac in the garden is in full thrust… and the sight and scent are equally divine. (The variety, for anyone interested, is Lilac Andenken an Ludwig Späth, named after the German botanist and nurseryman.)

One of the test shots using my new Sony 24-105 f4.0 lens.

Another from earlier in the evening near Winthrop. Not my favorite comp, as the flowers are looking a little scruffy, but I liked the sky.

The Lady’s Walk, a path through woodland, near the village of Montacute, Somerset, can be entered from the village, from where the path runs steeply up hill, or the walk can start from Hollow Lane, to walk downhill in the opposite direction. In Spring flowers grow on the woodland floor, celandines, primroses and wood anemones are the earliest, followed by wild garlic and bluebells later. The trees are mainly deciduous including many beeches.

LUANES WORLD

The water is moving fast now that all that snow is melting. This was only 1.6 seconds...

Up early this morning on Amberley mount and intended to photograph the other side of the Downs towards North Stoke .There were some beautiful mist banks in the Arun valley and north of the Downs which diverted my attention for understandable reasons. Two lovely hours of solitude, nature and visual pleasure - a great way to start the day.

The River Sind flows through the beautiful Sind valley in Ganderbal district of the state of Jammu & Kashmir , India.Shot taken on the way from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu & Kashmir to the stunning tourist destination of Sonamarg. The altitude would have been over 8000 feet.

The Springtime Of The Soul. - Poem by Patrick William Kavanagh

Sunlight, shining on the still bare trees, warms my mind as slowly I awake,

Winter's, slow and sleepy, journey, - almost at an end for one more year.

Maybe with the dawning of the Spring, there'll be and end to all our foolish fears,

and in the Spring-times busy bustle, we won't have the time for sadness or for tears.

Amongst the bare brown fields, still edged with white, I see the first green shoots appear,

The snow-white clouds move quickly past the Sun, lest they should block His light,

The raucous call of sparrows in the garden fills my morbid soul with new delight,

and I Awaken with the spring, a lesser wakening, perhaps, but still a further step into the light.

Each year I find it tougher to confront the winters icy bite upon my face and hands.

Each Spring appears, to find me longing more and more for all the comfort of the warmth and light.

Each day flies by, and soon the Summer will appear in all its might,

and one more stage upon my journey will eased by summers cheerful days and gentle nights.
