As I was making my way down to the splash pool at Dougan Falls I came across this pretty little seasonal fall making its contribution to the beauty of the area.
Having a play with this one. The Lower Dwili falls on the Neddfechan river has just gained a tranquil splash pool courtesy of the Flood filter. In reality this was the middle of Autumn with leaves covering the huge slabs of rock in front of these falls on a very very wet day. I'll post the original soon.

Unicoi State Park

We probably would have not spent any time at this gorgeous park since the initial plan was to drive through the park for access to Anna Ruby Falls in Chattahoochee National Forest a rare 150 ft. and 50 ft. double falls from two separate creeks that have the same splash pool. However, at the end of the park the gate was closed and access denied to the three mile drive to the falls because of ice and snow.

Splash Pool, Erin Park, Killarney Lake, MB.
This is one frame from the animated gif (converted to mp4) in the next slide.
A little web research turned up the company that makes this product which is popular in places like Toronto and Tampa. To see one in Killarney MB was special. It looks like something that Okanagan communities might want to look into!
Here'a link and little background:

A while back I moved from my office at the Greeter's Cottage to the Lake Club. It is an additional 5 miles to drive, but it is beautiful here. If you have a few minutes I will tell you what is here. (I'm sorry about those two deck chairs being out of place)
Just about where we are standing, we are going to put in a Tiki Bar and you can enjoy frozen drinks while poolside. In a while, we will go up the steps on the left and I will show you the 2 Hot Tubs and Kids Splash pool. When we come back down we will be on the other side of the main pool with a full view of Bear Lake. All of the pools are heated, by the way. If you like we could take out one of the pontoon boats and I could show you a mountain waterfall. I will be careful not go go over the dam. I just hate when that happens.
If you look to the far right you will see where steps lead down to another outside firepace and picnic area. We could come back this evening and one of the activity staff will bring us the makings for outdoor smores. Smores are popular here at the reserve.
Looking at the club, the left part of the building on the ground floor are the his and hers locker rooms and showers. Also there you will find a Sauna and Steam Room. To the right of the fireplace where the windows start is a full Gym and Workout room and 2 massage rooms. In the middle is a lounging area with nice chairs, sofas and a large flat screen TV. Don't worry about the children, there are plenty of activities for them in the Kid's Activity Room. Maybe after the smores, tonight we could go in the 20 seat movie theater and watch a family movie. If you would like something more relaxing, we could just catch up on our reading in the Library/Computer Room. Do you like the gas log fireplaces in the library and lounge area?
Looking at the top floor on the far left is the kitchen. Where the windows start is the main dining area and behind that is the fine dining room. If you make reservations for fine dining, the chefs will customize the menu to fit your tastes and the menu will even have your name on it.
To the right is the full lounge and another dining room. Of course, you can always eat on the decks. The full glass will give you beautiful views of Bear Lake.
The door at the end of the bar are the administrative offices. I hope you enjoyed the tour and in a day or so, I will show you the pools and lake.
Crisse and I headed out yesterday in search of ice somewhere besides the Gorge (which sounded inhospitable in its special, don't-mess-with-mother-nature way). I'm so glad we went. With some melting, some fascinating ice structures had appeared. I'm also glad I only have two witnesses to my inelegant ice crawling to get close to the splash pool. ;-)
We ran into another photographer, who was so intently wrapped in the scene I was afraid we'd startle him. I always hate interrupting someone out in the wild. It turned out to be Matt, whose pictures I admire very much. He has an amazing eye for beauty!
Before we left, much had melted--great slides of icicles kept crashing down the sides of the basin. I'm glad we had a chance to see it.

A young woman sits in the splash pool of Bald River Falls! Her male counterparts were climbing up beside the falls but I think she thought better of it and just sat down to enjoy the sights and sounds of Bald River! She never made any attempt to join her male counterparts and was only reunited after they came back down! Intelligent Woman!!!! That is why women have a longer life expectancy than men!!!! The mist was hitting us on the bridge 100 ft on down river; so I know she was getting wet! But she had fallen into the river getting to this spot; so she was alteady wet!
Sticking with images from the Water Break its Neck waterfall in the Radnor Forest area of Mid Wales. A low POV image of the base where this waterfall doe not really have much of a splash pool.
The Dart ball (round dimples) rests on a vintage tee, about 2/3 the height of an average tee today. Full disclosure here, but these shots are taken at our local park, Pinafore, which is a family park encompassing a bandshell, splash pool, picnic pavilions, and beautiful places to walk. Ironically, Pinafore was a golf course many years ago. It was also the sight of a tragedy when an overloaded tour boat capsized. I'm hoping to get a few shots at a golf course up north on the weekend. Not gonna play, but there's a course where we're staying.
The waterfall is exposed at F/16 @ 3/4 seconds and the splash pool at F/22 @ 4 seconds. Circular polarizer and a 3 stop neutral density filter.

A walk along the Cutler Brook/Markeaton brook shows how it was transformed in 1758 to create a series of lakes with waterfalls/weirs as it runs through the Kedleston Hall park on its way to the Derwent.
The Splash Pool marks one end of the Kedleston estate, thereafter becoming a brook again.
Getting down to the base was slow but sure. Getting over the mounds of ice to the splash pool was fun. I dropped my remote in the water 2 shots after this one and it was never to be seen again. It didn't really upset me though, other than the litter in the creek. I stood in the pool and found myself in a moment of thought. This time last year I could barely walk due to some condition that affected my tendons. How grand is it that we get exited and seek out the most adverse and treacherous conditions. We are driven by a passion to capture and share these beautiful scenes that words can't describe. I hope this image and yours eats more than just my remote. The more people that gain an appreciation for this beautiful place we dwell, The more peace and harmony will prevail. Happy Waterfall Wednesday and keep the chilly scenes coming.
Aotea Park is situated about 8 kilometres (5 miles) north of Porirua. The Park's "centre-piece" is the path around the perimeter of a lagoon, but a local Lions Service Club have added a ¼ scale rideable miniature railway with an 833-metre (2,733 ft) loop track which includes two bridges and a tunnel. (See previous photo).
The Park has lawns on three sides, some with barbecue facilities, but other facilities include an Adventure and Toddlers' playgrounds, a Splash Pond (see a previous photo), a duck pond, and an island reached by bridge!
In the opposite corner of the Park are another duck pond and a rose garden - which to our surprise included Roses that were still flowering! (Above)....
(The above was taken from: Wikepedia - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aotea_Lagoon).
And whilst the Park itself was very nicely laid out and thus very attractive, what made our visit even more pleasant was that it was sheltered from the strong, cold Southerly wind, thus allowing for a very pleasant, (and yes: some would say a quite romantic) amble that took in the Splash Pool, the Train (of course!), the Duck Pond and the beautiful Rose gardens...!
We will return in the Summer... with some Grandchildren in tow - though I'm not sure who is going to have more fun...!

Short story
I was inspired by the recent showings of customised minidolls from the Friends theme, so I decided to have a go at making my own. This is a modified Emma from the Splash Pool set.
Long story
Way back in the 90s, I'd been exposed to the NES and came across the game Low G Man, which is rather strange but one of my favourites on the system. I remember trying to find the manual for the game to uncover the back story.
Anyway, I wanted to create a spin-off of the game based on my own ideas, and also to improve on the original. I even had a working demo at one point, but it was lost when the home computer *allegedly* got a virus. This was back when CD writers came at a premium, and the only backup solution was a floppy disk.
This figure is of the main character of the spin-off. And yes, the hairstyle was inspired by Pokémon's Nurse Joy.
I promised I would bring you up here for a look. I think if we stand over by the top pool, it would be a good place to take a photograph of the splash pool, main pool and lake. You did bring your camera didn't you? You can see a bit of the lake in the background from here.

"The Maxim Splash Pool Party Series kicks in to high gear just when Dallas needs it most - in our first week of triple-digit temperatures. Produced by Noah and Breakfast for Maxim, the party promises to live up to the magazine's good name with plenty of scantily clad beautiful women and alcohol everywhere. Expect large crowds and a lot of shirtless guys being turned away.”
