This Giant Tortoise is contained by evenly spaced poles all around his enclosure. He was NOT a happy camper when they prevented him from going where he want to go. He went pretty fast at it. .. and ended up like this. . .

A speed sign down the road!

The beauty of speed hillclimb is any car can participate (providing it's road legal/safe of course).

I just got my newest toy today, a Nikon D300 with some extras. Like this 50mm ƒ1.4 lens.

Speed Week Testing Goodwood Motor Circuit track day - 7th Oct 2020

Just unboxed my Nikon D4 camera. It has some really great improvements over the D3s (which I still own, and will compare to the D4 later). The sensor seems to yield slightly crisper images with better dynamic range. In this series, I don't believe I pushed the ISO higher then 800 but this was simply because I had lots of light. I was shooting with my Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII lens on my Gitzo GM5561T monopod since I still can't really carry any of my gear while recovering from / still dealing with some medical issues.

This camera seems to be a bit lighter to me and also seems to be a bit flimsier, especially so in the battery door which doesn't seem as sturdy or substantial as the past versions. The XQD card (which was included with my D4 along with the card reader) and this works really great, I didn't actually expect to like these cards, but they work great in both the camera and the computer, and feel great and are easy to instal and remove from the camera. Ergonomically this is one of the best professional DSLR's I have ever used. Functionality wise, I like the re-design of the menu's to me, its been made a bit easier to see when out in daylight. The screen also seems improved. The back of the camera and the top of the camera feel a little bit cluttered to me empirically, however I am sure that I will get used to it. I don't do much video so the inclusion of special buttons for this feature set, however I will get used to it, and I have shot a few videos recently, so I may appreciate it in the future.

Still, My favorite feature so far, are the backlit buttons on the back of the camera.

Lotus 60th Anniversary sculpture - Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012

This custom Guru Geneo was commissioned by Debra and it is her third KGS bicycle. She rides in the Texas Hill Country so makes good use of the compact gearing. The Reynolds carbon clincher wheels absorb a lot of the roughness of Texas' chip seal roads. She chose Campagnolo Chorus 11 Speed for the drive train.

Thanks for looking and we appreciate your comments.
