Sprint Pero Pinheiro

11/2015

Autumn speeds by. One day it's glorious color and the next, it's bare trees. Savor each second.

East Coast Class 43 High Speed Train (Inter-City 125) 43367 hammering through Alexandra Palace on its way north.

An Angry Marine I painted for a speed painting contest at my local GW. I won a Librarian for this guy too.

I had never seen a speed limit sign with its own color-changing light. This is on the campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

This is what happens when you don't pay attention to the warning !!!

Professional pre war road bike from AMF Gloria, Milano with steel framework #31199 finished in blue/champagner. "Tre fiori" lugs. Upgraded 3-speed Simplex Tour de France derailleur. Wooden tubular rims and fender (front one separable). Universal Extra brakeset. Fr. Brambille stem.

OK, I think it's time for something a little different. I've got a few photos from some RC races up at the Full Throttle Racing club's track up in Abbot Maine. These guys don't fool around with jumps and table-tops, it's just full-out flat-track racing fun! These photos were taken not long before I convinced myself to go out and upgrade from electric to nitro RC trucks.

Having some fun with long exposure on my way to work early one morning.

This looked better on the small screen of my camera than it does here on Flickr, but I still like how everything is really blurred except her face!

The first sucessful shot out of my new Speed Graphic!

The Rack is an ambling, 4-beat gait commonly associated with gaited horses such as the American Saddlebred and Tennessee Walking Horse. It is noted for its smoothness (the rider hardly moves in the saddle, as opposed to the trot) and its relative speed. Many horse shows have a "speed-racking" class where the horses are judged not on their style but on how fast they can rack (without breaking into another gait like the canter or gallop). It's an exciting class--announcers tell the audience the louder they cheer, the faster the horses will go.

This is a photo from the winner's victory lap.

I've taken the railcar with the double doors idea from set 60337 and the nose part from 60051. I also took the roof idea from set 60051. I had to lower the doors by one plate so the bulkier roof would fit on top of it. And voilá, one beautiful High Speed train WITH doors.
