1x SB600 above right of camera one stop over than ambient light exposure

I have been going through old shots to find ideas that didn't work, but may be worth revisiting.

This garage sale ceramic bear looked good enough to rework and post.

Maybe my standards are just falling.

Nice rainy cool day. I took a short ride to check out the closed Pacific Coast Highway. I love cycling closed roads, but this one was really closed, with Caltrans and Highway Patrol making sure.

I am hoping the snowline will get down to the TopaTopa ridge so I can take a hike this week in the snow.

We shall see.

Cheers.

Autumn speeds by. One day it's glorious color and the next, it's bare trees. Savor each second.

An Angry Marine I painted for a speed painting contest at my local GW. I won a Librarian for this guy too.

I had never seen a speed limit sign with its own color-changing light. This is on the campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

This is what happens when you don't pay attention to the warning !!!

OK, I think it's time for something a little different. I've got a few photos from some RC races up at the Full Throttle Racing club's track up in Abbot Maine. These guys don't fool around with jumps and table-tops, it's just full-out flat-track racing fun! These photos were taken not long before I convinced myself to go out and upgrade from electric to nitro RC trucks.

Free is good! I cleaned out a condo for a friend after his tennants bugged out. I got to keep some stuff I found there. This set is one of them.

The speeder has a couple of things wrong with it, overall. I will notate the pics to show them.

The speeder will be cannibalized for parts. There are just too many good parts here that will work well as part of the Mega-Mondo-MOC I am going to build. Also, using anything SW just completely lacks creativity or originality, & so it bores me.

This looked better on the small screen of my camera than it does here on Flickr, but I still like how everything is really blurred except her face!

The Rack is an ambling, 4-beat gait commonly associated with gaited horses such as the American Saddlebred and Tennessee Walking Horse. It is noted for its smoothness (the rider hardly moves in the saddle, as opposed to the trot) and its relative speed. Many horse shows have a "speed-racking" class where the horses are judged not on their style but on how fast they can rack (without breaking into another gait like the canter or gallop). It's an exciting class--announcers tell the audience the louder they cheer, the faster the horses will go.

This is a photo from the winner's victory lap.
