The Shinkansen (新幹線?, new main line), also known as the bullet train, is a network of high-speed railway lines in Japan operated by four Japan Railways Group companies. Starting with the 210 km/h (130 mph) Tōkaidō Shinkansen in 1964, the now 2,459 km (1,528 mi) long network has expanded to link most major cities on the islands of Honshū and Kyūshū at speeds up to 300 km/h (186 mph). Test runs have reached 443 km/h (275 mph) for conventional rail in 1996, and up to a world record 581 km/h (361 mph) for maglev trainsets in 2003.

Like a speed paint, except slower. Didn't come out too bad. Added a couple effects at the end, which vastly improved the monster. Also, in before shoop da woop.

On Monday Sept. 1, 2014 the Bluegrass Railroad Museum in Versailles, KY held the title as America's Most Scenic Railroad!
Labor Day morning found a group of photographers at the Museum for a photo workshop led by Ash Saljooqi of Diverse Photographers while Joe Nugent coordinated the railroad activities.

Here we installed "Super" gloss black vinyl to the roof of this car. The way we achieve this ultra glossy look is through laminating our Venture Shield clear bra to the 3M 1080 gloss black vinyl. This super glossy film transforms a hardtop car into a car with a panoramic style roof. We also took 3M 1080's gloss metallic black and covered the brake portion of the tail light. We meticulously hand trim every edge of our film t ensure the installation looks legitimately real.

I went down to Laguna Seca late last month to check out the Speed Ventures track day and Radical Sports car and EXR races. I took a bunch of photos digitally (to be posted shortly), but also brought along a new-to-me old film SLR; a Nikon F-801s. I thought this was supposed to AF with all of my Nikkor lenses, but it wouldn't work for me; so pardon some missed-focus shots; I had to do it manually. If R1 is in the image name, it was taken on Agfa Photo Vista 200; R2 was Ektar 100. Taken with one of the following lenses:

All black and white film photos done in 2012 are developed and printed by myself, unless otherwise noted. My scanner however is taking a shit resulting in the photo edge showing up in the top of some photos.
Manhole covers framing the posted speed limit. The covers carry the official City of Yokohama logo in the middle. The steel surface carries a cool pattern, apparently in an attempt to provide automotive traction. Useless - outright hazardous when wet. You can make the rear bicycle wheel spin when starting off from the steel surface.
