Installation of new equipment on the Spectacle Reef Light in northern Lake Huron established telemetry so that the data being gathered at the Eddy Covariance Station there can be monitored and collected at GLERL. An eddy covariance station measures atmospheric fluxes that allow over-lake evaporation to be estimated. 8/27/13. Credit: NOAA.

VCAD was hosting Concept Fashion Show, on July 17, 2013. The event provided an opportunity for the emerging talents to share what they have learned at VCAD while interacting with experienced professionals in the fashion industry. The show featured VCAD graduate Olivia S., Zoe C., Nicole F., Shaunique S., Ross V. and Evan D. designs, and included a discussion panel afterwards. The event took place at the Scotiabank Dance Centre in Vancouver, BC

Well, for the second year in a row I spent July 4th on St. Pete's beach. The weather was gross this year though, and we ended up seeking refuge beneath a parking garage, while it poured and poured over our celebration. The fireworks were put off nonetheless, and they had the part of the beach closest to us sanctioned off. Needless to say they were quite close to us, and my youngest brother was quite excited by the show.
The Spectacle Bridge, ½ km to the south-west of Lisdoonvarna, spans a deep narrow gorge through which the Aille River flows. As it had to support the road at the top, a double arch forming a circular opening was built above the lower arch, giving the bridge its unusual and unique "spectacle" appearance.
