Listen to I Am a Clown on SoundCloud
This is a song about a sad clown. It's actually a metaphor of the connection some people can have with the world in general.

Lyrics:
I'm A Clown
I gave you everything
We spent so long together
You used to be my darling
We drank the same water
Where have you been?
Why do you hide?
You were a queen
Stay by my side
I'm a clown
A needy clown
In the jungle
of your heart
Why don't you understand
We could relieve the pain
Just give me your 2 hands
We've got to try again
Where have you been?
Why do you hide?
You were a queen
Stay by my side
I believed in you so much
Why did we change like that?
Do you remember us?
So young and beautiful.
I'm a clown
A needy clown
In the jungle
of your heart

Railtour Memories - remembering English Electrics D200 + 37138 on 1G50 - The Anglian Diesel Farewell - 09May1987
In this view we see the legendary D200 (aka 40122) after having arrived at the second destination of the day - the remodelled Harwich Town terminus station. The loco has just been detached from the train.
During the 1980s, I spent a lot of my time riding around the British Rail network, mainly chasing Class 40s and then Class 50s, but also seeing and riding behind a number of other classes. I made a number of tape recordings at the time - many from the front window, some from the platform - using my trusty 'ghetto-blaster' or 'boom box' - and now these recordings can finally be heard :)
There were also many fine rail tours back in the 1980s, and it was often possible to get haulage behind your favourite class and travel over rare track at the same time, as with this tour, and all for a modest outlay of £15-20. Happy days 😍
'A day in the life' - log book update:

On this recording, we travel behind the original Class 40 - celebrity loco D200 (40122) - along with Class 37 37138 on the Anglian Diesel Farewell railtour. The recordings have survived in good shape, having been made using a quality TDK SA-90 metal tape. Enjoy the sound of the English Electric Type 3 and Type 4 - for a good 40mins you can immerse yourself in reliving the experience of hanging out of a Mark 1 carriage window behind classic diesels 😎
Recordings taken at: London Liverpool Street - King’s Lynn - Lowestoft - Oulton Broad North - Reedham - Brundall - Norwich - London Liverpool Street
Track 1 0m-6m D200 departs Liverpool Street
Track 2 6m-10m D200 release and run-round at King’s Lynn
Track 3 10m-14m30s 37138 arrives at Lowestoft c/w plenty of basher blather 😍
Track 4 14m30s-16m 37138 reverses the empty stock out of Lowestoft at speed!
Track 5 16m-26m 37138 Lowestoft - Oulton Broad North, through Reedham, through Brundall
Track 6 26m-31m D200 departs Norwich
Track 7 31m-39m D200 ‘revved up’ by the driver under the station roof after arrival at Liverpool St - with encouragement from the bashers on the platform - shut down followed by start up again, and final departure light engine to Stratford 😍
The British Rail Class 40s were built by English Electric between 1958 and 1962. They were numbered D200-D399. Despite their initial success, by the time the last examples were entering service they were already being replaced on some top-level duties by more powerful locomotives. As they were slowly relegated from express passenger uses, the type found work on secondary passenger and freight services where they worked for many years. The final locomotives ended regular service in 1985. The locomotives were commonly known as "Whistlers" because of the distinctive noise made by their turbochargers.
British Railways originally ordered ten Class 40s, then known as "English Electric Type 4s", as evaluation prototypes. They were built at the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire. The first locomotive, D200, was delivered to Stratford on 14 March 1958. Following fitter and crew training, D200 made its passenger début on an express train from London Liverpool Street to Norwich on 18 April 1958. Five of the prototypes, Nos. D200, D202-D205, were trialled on similar services on the former Great Eastern routes, whilst the remaining five, Nos. D201, D206-D209, worked on Great Northern services on the East Coast Main Line.
The InterCity Great Eastern Main Line between London and Norwich was diesel operated from 1958 until 1985, when the Liverpool Street - Ipswich section was electrified. The last section from Ipswich to Norwich was finally energised in May 1987, when through electric services commenced.

A MUSICA É ETERNA E NOSSA AMIZADE TAMBÉM.
HOJE AMANHA E SEMPRE.
I am so lost in this pool, I must find the oceans.
this is so confussing, yet amusing, I don‘t know what to do with my emotions.
each time you walk into my dreams, I'm growing into extremes.
I run up to that giant roof, I jump sail through, I know clouds are bulletproof.
I want to unlock to hear you talk, all those secrets left unspoken.
I want to kidnap your heart, restore all that‘s broken.
each time you walk into my dreams, I'm growing into extremes.
I run up to that giant roof, I jump sail through, I know clouds are bulletproof.
you are like that wizard up above, you can turn hate back into love.
'cause all that hate might seem it's giving you fuel but
when it dresses you up it doesn't make you look cool.
I am going to take you out on a very special night.
and when I find you, gonna put some clothes around you,
some clothes ... some clothes ... some clothes ... some clothes

Hard to believe this is where I was but a week ago ...
The 'street' of the former settlement of Lonbain, sitting right on the coast with views across the water to the Isle of Skye. There was something very peaceful about the place - but 'haunted' with the memories of all the former occupants. Difficult to imagine what life must have been like when these homes were actually lived in and still had their roofs. There is one of these houses which still has its roof as it was actually lived in up until the mid 1980s. More of that one to come ...
There are still people living in the area [in more modern houses] and they are obviousy looking after these old homes. A notice on the gate leading down to these houses by the shore says:
Township Habitat Regeneration.
Welcome to Lonbain. The families who live here
are trying to improve the area by erecting fencing
and growing trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables.
All the fencing and high gates were made and erected
by the residents and some friends over a period of two
years during their evenings, weekends and holidays.
The flowers, shrubs and trees were also planted by the
residents with a wish to attract wildlife and increase the
bird population.
Please respect our work by carefully closing the gates
against tree-nibbling animals.
Thank you!
