Craig received three Academy Award nominations for his work on the recent Coen brothers’ films No Country for Old Men and True Grit.

A man lives alone in a small apartment. The little contact he had with other people has dropped to zero since the rabbit appeared. Every attempt to get the rabbit out of his apartment has failed and since he is not sure whether or not pets are allowed in the building, he does not let anybody enter his apartment.

Sound Design for Visual Media recently visited Science World to entertain and educate a young audience of sound aficionados. VFS instructors Curtis Wright and Brad Hillman were on hand to show the audience how to recreate the sounds of “Big Weather”.

VFS Sound Design students need to collect a wide range of sounds to use in the soundscapes of their final projects.
This recording session was organized by current student Ryan Thompson for his final project, which required a lot of car noise. The students rented a "Dyno" from a local tuning shop in order to accelerate the car to exceedingly high speeds without the risk of actually taking it on the road.

Artist Aurelio Martinez, leading voice of the Garifuna Community, was Honduras' first Senator of African descent. Aurelio was selected by the Rolex Mentor Protege Initiative as a protege of Youssou N'Dour. He served as co-host of this MusicWorks NYC Studio Reception.
The Garifuna community in the U.S dates back to the 1800's and number an estimated 40,000 strong in New York alone.

Here he is playing with students in a Sound Design (Music 34) class taught by Spencer Topel. Gary Bourgeois, one of the film industry’s top re-recording mixers, visited the Sound Design for Visual Media campus, enthralling students for nearly four hours with his experiences. Gary has been active in the industry since the early 1970′s, working on Pretty in Pink, Pleasantville, Charlie’s Angels, and The Bourne Supremacy.
