Although not much to look at these "sound mirrors" or "listening ears" are an important piece of history. Built in the late 1920s these dishes were built to detect enemy aircraft crossing the English Channel from Europe and were a very basic form of radar. The largest dish, on the left, is curved in shape and 200 feet long while the smaller dishes are 20 feet and 30 feet in diameter. Their location is on a remote part of the shingle beach at Dungeness in Kent and just to reach this point was a 20 minute walk from the car. Their remoteness was so as not to pick up any unwanted noises. The lake is a later addition and the result of gravel extraction. September 2010

December on Vineyard Sound offers a serene and magical experience. Picture a ferry gliding across the calm waters, its lights reflecting on the surface as the moon rises, casting a silvery glow over the scene. The tranquil beauty of the sound, combined with the crisp winter air, creates a moment of peaceful reflection and connection to nature. Whether you're traveling to Martha's Vineyard or simply enjoying the view, it's a sight that stays with you.

Having put together the camera the subsequent step now is to check the equipment for its operationality.

Tijdens de koude oorlog stegen dagelijks met veel gebrul Amerikaanse straaljagers op van Vliegbasis Soesterberg. The Sound of Freedom noemden omwoners het overweldigende geluid.

You can look at this in several ways:

1.The sound of hot brass hitting the floor stirs something in everyone.

2.America is known for cowboy films and technology.

3.the simple, loud, quick sound of a round going off versus the hours or pleasant music.

4.pure white/tarnished brass

5.things man can do

I'm sure it could mean something else to you.

The Sounds played at the Vic Theater in Chicago on November 7th, 2009.

I love this salad - it has haloumi cheese in it ^_^, and I love the plates too :)

The Sounds are quite notorious for their song "Hurt You" as seen on the Geico Motorcycle commercial starring the Cavemen [view it here]. From Skåne län, Sweden, this energetic female-led quartet has new-wave roots with indie pop overtones. As vocalist Maya Ivarsson proclaimed during their stay @ The Marquee in Tulsa, OK on 5/14/09, they play a lot of big shows but enjoy their own shows much more. So catch their headlining act before it's gone, as they are soon to open for No Doubt in a string of U.S. performances.

Dopo due anni di assenza dai palchi, I cinque mostri del rock approdano a Milano per il City Sound.

Finalmente è uscito Now What?, il nuovo album dei Deep Purple a otto anni dal fortunatissimo Rapture of the Deep. Il disco non smentisce le aspettative. Prodotto da Bob Erzin (lo stesso di Pink Floyd, Kiss e Alice Cooper, per intenderci) e preceduto dall'uscita in contemporanea dei singoli All the Time in the World e Hell to Pay, brani che mostrano i due lati dell'intero lavoro, melodico e raffinato da una parte, sanguigno e hard dall'altra.

I Deep Purple sono: Ian Gillan (voce), Steve Morse (chitarra), Roger Glover (basso), Don Airey (tastiere) e il fondatore Ian Paice (batteria).

From 141, which we've taken many times, we detoured onto BZ Comber Glenwood Road - a long way round to Troutdale, Washington. The road has a bit of gravel, but was easy even for Jayne. Just after we started back up after this stop, a family of ducks crossed in front of us (we had plenty of time to stop and allow them to). This was during the SoundRider! Rally in the Gorge on Friday - we did our own ride, rather than the group ride (they were going places we had been before). You can read Jayne's review of the rally.

The Sounds live at Electric Ballroom. This show was nice and pumped, was nicer hearing the set after their latest sophomore album, Crossing The Rubicon was out. The highlight was most likely when they brought up a dude on stage to play the cowbell but he was all kinds of horrific in terms of whacking the thing in beat, I think he was a bit too excited ^_^. Lots of posing, jumping and dancing on stage.

In the Marlborough Sounds, just making the turn from the Tory Passage into the long, straight Queen Charlotte Sound, with a brief glimpse out to open sea beyond. I love the subtle shades of blue.

Team coordination meeting backstage. As the catering tent is quite crowded and the Sun has decided to spent some warmth, the simplest solution is to move the meeting outside.
