Straight seams thanks to starch. I've been quilting for 10 years and never starched anything before!

These orcas are from a transient pod seen in Bellingham Bay in WA. This is the first sighting of orcas within Bellingham Bay since 1952. Usually the orcas are much further out in Puget Sound toward the Straits of Juan de Fuca.

I alway have so much fun chasing the Blue Angles. This photo was the first time I was able to photograph the compression ring. Maybe it's the noise I like so much.

Looking across the Puget Sound. Seattle is just visible to the right of the picture.

I took this picture on top of the Celebrity Century Cruise while floating through the Milford Sounds in New Zealand. Beautiful morning.

Although not much to look at these "sound mirrors" or "listening ears" are an important piece of history. Built in the late 1920s these dishes were built to detect enemy aircraft crossing the English Channel from Europe and were a very basic form of radar. The largest dish, on the left, is curved in shape and 200 feet long while the smaller dishes are 20 feet and 30 feet in diameter. Their location is on a remote part of the shingle beach at Dungeness in Kent and just to reach this point was a 20 minute walk from the car. Their remoteness was so as not to pick up any unwanted noises. The lake is a later addition and the result of gravel extraction. September 2010

I installed some of those fake plastic shutters on a friend's house today. I was drilling holes in bricks, banging anchor bolts and cussing like the sailor I am, yet this little guy never moved. I wish I could get a few nights sleep as sound.

December on Vineyard Sound offers a serene and magical experience. Picture a ferry gliding across the calm waters, its lights reflecting on the surface as the moon rises, casting a silvery glow over the scene. The tranquil beauty of the sound, combined with the crisp winter air, creates a moment of peaceful reflection and connection to nature. Whether you're traveling to Martha's Vineyard or simply enjoying the view, it's a sight that stays with you.

Having put together the camera the subsequent step now is to check the equipment for its operationality.

Tijdens de koude oorlog stegen dagelijks met veel gebrul Amerikaanse straaljagers op van Vliegbasis Soesterberg. The Sound of Freedom noemden omwoners het overweldigende geluid.

Securing the camera left-of-stage against potential rain throughout the day. As it turned out this was a pure measure of precaution, since it remained dry that day.

The Sounds are quite notorious for their song "Hurt You" as seen on the Geico Motorcycle commercial starring the Cavemen [view it here]. From Skåne län, Sweden, this energetic female-led quartet has new-wave roots with indie pop overtones. As vocalist Maya Ivarsson proclaimed during their stay @ The Marquee in Tulsa, OK on 5/14/09, they play a lot of big shows but enjoy their own shows much more. So catch their headlining act before it's gone, as they are soon to open for No Doubt in a string of U.S. performances.

The Sounds live at Electric Ballroom. This show was nice and pumped, was nicer hearing the set after their latest sophomore album, Crossing The Rubicon was out. The highlight was most likely when they brought up a dude on stage to play the cowbell but he was all kinds of horrific in terms of whacking the thing in beat, I think he was a bit too excited ^_^. Lots of posing, jumping and dancing on stage.

In the Marlborough Sounds, just making the turn from the Tory Passage into the long, straight Queen Charlotte Sound, with a brief glimpse out to open sea beyond. I love the subtle shades of blue.
