Nothing better to do on a rainy day... might as well play with my sleeping baby's soother :)

Both of my girls have one of these and were taking lessons for a while but then quit. I love the sounds on an acoustic guitar.

Bring the soothing sights and sounds of the sea to your baby. The Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Lullaby Soother features a scrolling, illuminated ocean scene with fun-loving fish, colorful characters and 25 minutes of continuous playing melodies from Bach, Mozart and Beethoven or beautiful nature sounds. Features 4 play modes: Melodies and lights, melodies only, nature sounds and lights and nature sounds only. Additional features: Drift off features: lights and melodies gradually soften to gently help your little one ease into sweet dreams. Remote control lets you start or stop soother from up to 15 feet away. Attaches securely to most cribs, 9'' H x 10 1/4'' W x 3 1/4'' D . Crib soother requires 4 C batteries, not included. Remote requires 2AAA batteries, not included . babytoyaquarium.blogspot.com/

SPRUTBASS (dødpop / NO)

Skweee from the land of the thousand burning churches. Behind the artist Sprutbass, you find the norwegian musician Eivind Henjum (born 20.12.79). After many years active as a musician, playing the electric bass and synth in several successful Norwegian acts, Henjum decided he had to fulfill his innermost musical dreams. Growing up with the best from both the seventies and the eighties, this meant funky old school beats, heavy synthbass-sounds (the Sprutbass...) and odd, soothing, spaced out synthleads; The little bastard space child of Bootsy Collins, Jan Hammer, KLF, Man Parrish and Kraftwerk was finally born.

TOM WILSON (dreamboat / RO)

Tom Wilson (and sometimes Tom Giles AKA Cause Four of DC Recordings fame) is a British DJ producer and journalist, currently residing in Bucharest, Romania. He has written for The Observer, The Independent and Dazed and Confused, works as an editor for Omagiu magazine and pens a number of monthly columns. He releases music on Dreamboat Records. Tom is a fan of early minimalism, collects English folk revival records, secretly downloads happy hardcore mix tapes and is quite scared of dogs. Not to forget, he spins some of the best “academic” disco records.

LEIF & ALIDA (leif and the future / NO)

Leif and the Future have garnered a fair bit of press recently, and deservingly so for this promising band with creative Bergen roots. As a live solo performer LEIF takes things on a different trip; new wave, dark synthy, electronic tinged harmonies that could be seen as a lighter equivalent to Steve Mason's Black Affair side project. LEIF is currently developing his solo show into a duo, with the talented ALIDA from Philco Fiction. Together with a photographer and a fashion designer they are developing a visual and musical world best described as the soul of asia filtered through african nights to be projected by german and british vintage techno. This night is a taster of this project, LEIF & ALIDA

Tonight I sat on the shoreline at Lake Side park eating dinner with a friend. The rest of the evening I spent capturing the light and colors playing across the water. Was nice to escape my house :) Now I'm headed out to watch a movie, I hope you all have a great week.

My 2nd daughter wanted to learn how to play the violin so I got her the cheapest one I can find to start her off. No sense in buying something expensive for what could very well be a passing interest on her part.

This is where local children come and hang their baby soothers when they stop using them.

PRESS RELEASE

Dare to Dream: New ‘Craftivism’ project

announced by Heritage Open Days

www.heritageopendays.org.uk

13th-22nd September 2019

This year, England’s largest festival of culture and heritage will celebrate its 25th anniversary, with a new arts commission focusing on those who have affected positive change and the power of gentle protest.

In 2019, Heritage Open Days will celebrate its anniversary with 25 Years of People Power. Against a backdrop of Brexit - a time of unprecedented social division and uncertainty - hundreds of events across the country will celebrate change-makers; those whose visions and dreams have brought positive developments to our society, both large and small.

Alongside festival walks, talks and openings, the Dare to Dream project will explore the power of positive visualisation in effecting change and finding solutions to the problems that surround us. Through a series of ‘craftivism workshops’ designed by Sarah Corbett, founder of the global Craftivist Collective, participants will have an opportunity to think about the issues that matter to them, and how to be an active part of bringing positive change, both locally and globally. The commission is the third in Heritage Open Days’ Unsung Stories strand, made possible by support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery with the aim of exploring lesser-known histories in new and innovative ways.

Participants will hand-stitch their positive visions for the future onto fabric ‘dream clouds’, share their creations on social media, and display them in meaningful locations to encourage us all to be solution-seekers and change-makers. “We’re thrilled to be working with Sarah, who embodies the gentle form of People Power that is at the heart of Heritage Open Days,” says HODs National Manager, Annabelle Thorpe.

“Throughout history, real change has come from those who have thought differently, dreamed big and believed solutions are there to be found. Dare to Dream offers a chance for everyone to think about how we can all positively shape the future, and make our dreams for a fairer, happier society become reality.”

Across the Heritage Open Days festival, Sarah will lead four free workshops, launching at

Dartington Hall in Totnes, where the concept for the NHS was established in the 1940s. Moving to Norwich, Manchester and Durham, each session will take inspiration from local dream-makers whose historic ideas helped to shape a new reality. Downloadable instruction packs will also enable organisers to run their own Dare to Dream workshops, enabling nationwide participation. After the festival, insights drawn from the workshops will create a picture of our dreams and hopes for society in the next 25 years.

"By having a vision rather than just fixating on a problem, our brains start finding ways to turn

those visions into reality” says campaigner, Sarah Corbett. “Join us and craft your creation, whilst you think deeply about what your dream for a better world will look like, and how you can be part of making it. Stitch by soothing stitch, we can help become change-makers."

Yesterday’s dreams shaped today’s reality. This September, join Heritage Open Days and the

Craftivist Collective to create individual dreams for a positive future.

"She wore a mask so often she mistook it for her face. The cool curvatures of plastic sinking into her cheekbones became her own form of comfort so much that the familiarity of another’s features soothed her to sleep. But in her slumber she refused to dream, for only nightmares came and in those dreams she saw herself, felt the bags underneath her eyes forming dark circles like shadows around the moon, her chest caving in at the idea she could not bear to face her realities in her fantasies, so she walked in an unconscious haze to the fields where she grew up as if to convince herself that she was on another timeline, a different dimension from the one she was living in. A limbo that could hold her in an abyss she could not wake from, and in this darkness she felt home for there were no reflections without light, and she slowly forgot about the lost girl within herself, her body rejected who she was in entirety. Entranced by oblivion she could not decipher if she was awake with her eyes closed or so deep in her conscious that it had collapsed in on her memory, distorting her perception on actuality itself. She wandered aimlessly through flowers and weeds, and like her mind they grew wild and feral, contorting and twisting like the strands of her sanity, branching off into delusions she could not contain, and so she remains there frozen in her own state of madness, waiting, waiting, and waiting to grab ahold onto a reality, any world, where she can be beautiful even without a mask, beautiful in her eyes, beautiful in her own mind."

With the days getting longer and the weather getting warmer, it was time to switch from the dark, cozy winter bedroom to a light, airy summer scheme.

My favorite part about Florida is just sitting in the pool watching boats drive by and pelicans flying around.

Manipur is a north eastern area and the regional dancers wear one of the most beautiful cotumes.

Dark orange or green skirts are stiffened from the thigh to the ankle and decorated with gold thread embroidery; tiny mirrors are also added. Over the skirt is worn a short, silver gauze, gathered skirt edged with a golden border. A coloured choli is worn with a fine guaze veil draped over a special hair style. Belts and jewelry complete this costume.

Box description:-

MYSTICAL MANIPURI

Lush greenery, misty mountains, breathtaking views, soothing amiable tribes and diverse cultures, That is Manipur. One of the seven sisters of the north east nook of India. The traditional Manipuri dance dress looks more to demonstrating a rich background that is based on folk times and myth. The skirt, stiff and fast bends around the waist running down to a vertical flow to form a largish bell shaped canopy look. The hairdo is tall with a transluscent and glittering sash draped over the head.
