These colours are supposedly used in hospitals, clinics, and asylums to evoke a soothing, calming effect on patients. IMO, I find them disturbing and invigorating -- energizing to a point. Where is the research to support these claims?
Not that I'm refuting the research or disbelieve that it doesn't exist. I merely question the notion that I might feel as if I'm floating on my back in the middle of a lake, baking in the summer sun without a care in the world when surrounded by these shades.
Considering the nature, rumors, and history of this place, I'm not sure "soothing" and calming were effectively implemented. The colours of this place seem to instigate and tease, rather than brush you down into a pattern of tranquility.

I find the macbook instruction guy very soothing, and I also find these people swimming very soothing. Combine the two and.. ummm. i don't know.
This ointment now no longer available in its original medicinal format...it was withdrawn for a while last year whilst they messed around with the mixture...now just a purile cream.

Another sunrise shot, I wanted the light on the rocks and the suns reflection in the foreground here .
My last posting till sunday folks going away for a long weekend.
A couple of km outside of Luang Prabang in Laos there are a couple of very nice waterfall sites. This series of small waterfalls is located at Tat Kuang Si, which is one of them.
This part don't see to many people since it located in between the more accessible parts of the site so standing there you hear very little except the soothing sound of the water flowing gently downstream.
