What is social distancing and why is it important?
Social distancing includes ways to stop or slow the spread of infectious diseases. It means less
contact between you and other people.
Social distancing is important because COVID-19 is most likely to spread from person-to-person
through:
direct close contact with a person while they are infectious or in the 24 hours before their
symptoms appeared
close contact with a person with a confirmed infection who coughs or sneezes, or
touching objects or surfaces (such as door handles or tables) contaminated from a cough
or sneeze from a person with a confirmed infection, and then touching your mouth or
face.
So, the more space between you and others, the harder it is for the virus to spread.

Avoid handshaking and kissing
Regularly disinfect high touch surfaces, such as tables, kitchen benches and doorknobs

Consider whether outings and travel, both individual and family, are sensible and
necessary

Unter räumlicher Distanzierung, auch räumliche Trennung oder physische Distanzierung, versteht man eine Reihe von nicht-pharmazeutischen Maßnahmen zur Infektionskontrolle, die die Ausbreitung einer ansteckenden Krankheit stoppen oder verlangsamen sollen.

Wieso Social Distancing hilft:
"Social Distancing und ein teilweiser Shutdown kann im Idealfall wie ein Reset wirken und ganz deutlich das Gesundheitssystem entlasten"
Allerdings müsse man auch nach diesem teilweisen Shutdown weiterhin vorsichtig sein und wohl Menschenmassen meiden.
Unabhängig davon, wie hoch nun die tatsächlichen Fallzahlen sind, lässt sich aber sagen, dass das Einschränken von sozialen Kontakten, das sogenannte Social Distancing, hilft. Dafür gibt es, überspitzt gesagt, eine gesicherte Beweislage von über 100 Jahren. Das aktuell besonders oft gezeigte Beispiel ist das der beiden amerikanischen Städte St. Louis und Philadelphia zu Zeiten der spanischen Grippe 1918.

Auch beim aktuellen Coronavirus zeigt sich wieder, wie wirksam Quarantäne und Social Distancing beim Eindämmen einer Epidemie ist. Und das auch, wenn sie nur regional durchgeführt werden. So zeigte eine Gruppe um die Forscherin Jennifer Dowd der Universität Oxford einen Vergleich zwischen den italienischen Provinzen Bergamo und Lodi in einer Studie [OSFHome].

Während Lodi schon am 23. Februar Maßnahmen zum Social Distancing ergriff, tat Bergamo dies erst am 8. März, mit drastischen Folgen für die Fallzahlen. Während Bergamo über 2.000 Erkrankte hat, sind es in Lodi nur über 1000. Die Forschergruppe schreibt: "Das ist ein Beweis für das Potenzial des Abflachens der Kurve ('flattening the curve')."
In der Literatur zu anderen, vergangenen Epidemien finde man allerdings Erfahrungswerte, die zeigen, dass die gemeldeten Fälle ungefähr 20 bis 70 Prozent aller tatsächlichen Fälle ausmache. "Ich würde davon ausgehen, dass wir in Deutschland eine niedrigere Dunkelziffer haben als zum Beispiel in Italien, wo die Situation von Anfang an unübersichtlich war", sagt Maier. Gleichzeitig warnte aber aktuell der Präsident des Robert-Koch-Instituts Lothar Wieler, dass die Erkrankungszahlen mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit wesentlich höher seien.

Frankfurt Corona Protest 8.08.2020
Nach der großen Coronademonstration in Berlin hat die bizarre deutsche Regierung beschlossen, hart durchzugreifen. Obwohl die Frankfurter Coronaproteste im Gegensatz zu anderen Demonstrationen bisher immer friedlich waren, hat man ein großes Polizeiaufgebot in Bewegung gesetzt und die rechtswidrige Maskenpflicht bei Demonstrationen zum Anlass genommen, den Protestspaziergang zu stoppen. Selbstverständlich war kein Teilnehmer bereit, eine Maske anzulegen. Bei extremer Hitze (bisher heißester Tag des Jahres) und trotz der zahlreichen anderen Spaziergänger, die auch keine Maske tragen mussten.

This isolation gave me an opportunity to repair (again) my Bronica EC. I'm not saying "my old Bronica", as it's as old as me, and I don't feel like that yet. So, the camera had a little water-related accident a few months ago. It was not a very nice view inside when I opened the covers... Anyway, now it works again!
Today while out exercising (slow walk for me). I noticed a couple of families with young kids down the road had pretty chalk drawings on their drive and footpath. It bought a smile to my face. Then I figured I haven't really grown up so I could join in. When I got home I found some chalk and drew a cartoon of my own.

He has more tests scheduled for Thursday. He claimed me as his human from the very start and I am hoping with everything I have that the outcome is good.
