Social Distancing Edition

Our struggle with #covid_19: water💧as a symbol of life and frequent hand washing ; the cross ➕ representing our faith and hope. Even with both, the hand grasps upward for help.

It is hard staying inside and not being able to meet amazing people to take their portraits; it’s starting to drive me crazy. This was my attempt to at least create something without leaving the house. Self-isolation and #socialdistancing will help to flatten the curve.

Shot using the #canon6D with EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM in my small home studio. It’s lit with a #godoxad200 at 1/32+0.7 power. (1/180 s. f/16 102mm at ISO 100.) Shot (tethered) and edited in @captureonepro 20. This was quite difficult to do: my hand is in the shot while my other hand poured the water, and my foot is pressing the computer mouse on the floor to release the shutter. @marc_klaus_ would be proud

In mid-May the government relaxed the rules on certain exercise activities including fishing. With the rules relaxed Marina Square, where the tackle shop is situated and the harbour walls, which the public fish from, have become a ‘social distancing’ nightmare.

Overnight the marina stepped up their game and had very large social distancing signs made and put up in all key spots. They also limited the number of people allowed to fish from the wall each day and employed a ‘Fishing Warden’ to make sure everybody is sticking to the rules. Meet Adrian - Brighton Marina's fishing warden.

My start conversation with Adrian was about seeing him working somewhere else. He explained that he is a refuse collector but, along with all other refuse collectors, is furloughed.

Watching the world not go by.

Interesting how now, in the flu season of 2023, although the NHS reports covid-19 is again circulating and colds and flu are again in evidence, gone are the masks, gone the social distancing. It's as if people either think because they're vaccinated they're immune, or see through the entire Covid epidemic danger as being over-hyped, to say the least.

A cynic might say it was all a big marketing / fear-mongering / brainwashing exercise, initiated by big Pharma and vaccine manufacturers, money-manipulated through the media and governments; aka # CONFIB

The poppy fields of 2020 are the most dense and vivid we have ever seen. We were careful to follow our county's guidelines that require wearing a mask while outside. Needless to say, they weren't really necessary as we had the fields to ourselves.

The blue-cheeked bee-eater (Merops persicus) is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family, Meropidae. The genus name Merops is Ancient Greek for "bee-eater", and persicus is Latin for "Persian". Nach mehrfacher Androhung der Personalienfeststellung sind Polizisten dann zwischen die friedlichen Versammlungsteilnehmer gegangen und haben einzelne Teilnehmer abgeführt.
